As part of its First Friday Series at McGuffey Art Center, Miki Liszt Dance Company presents the work of R Squared, a new
contemporary dance group.
Featuring the choreography of Rachel S. Hunter and Rachael L. Shaw, two R Squared performances, at 6pm and 7pm, will take place in Studio #20 at
McGuffey Art Center on March 7.

Four County Players (4CP), Central VA's longest running community theater, presents
Joseph and
the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, featuring the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice. Appropriate
for all ages, the show opens at the Barboursville Community Center on March 7 with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sunday
matinées at 2:30pm.

A significant influence in the post-modern dance world, Douglas Dunn will
perform solo at
Play On! Theatre on March 18.

The University of Virginia Art Department's Arts Administration Program and
Drama Department's Dance Program present dancer and choreographer Douglas Dunn in solo performance on March 18. The
performance will take place at 8pm at Play On!
Theatre, located in the Frank Ix Building.
Tickets: $5, available at the door.
Dunn
is one of the country's leading experimental choreographers. His
work expresses an
important lineage in the modern dance tradition, inherited in his early
work with Merce Cunningham and later, with the groundbreaking New York
improvisatory dance troupe Grand Union.

Discover works of art from artists of every age and enjoy their unique perspective of the
community we love. ArtInPlace presents an exhibition of work entered in the annual C2D competition, on display at
McGuffey Art Center through March 30. Artists in three
categories (elem/middle school, high school, and adult) have submitted 2-dimensional art
representing their view of the essence of Charlottesville.

Join the Charlottesville Jazz Society's Artist/Educator
gatherings on the third
Tuesday of every month for music, food, and merriment. The March 18 Artist/Educator gathering will take place at Bashir's Taverna on the downtown
mall and feature
the work of versatile guitarist and composer Joshua Walker, in
performance with Shareef Taher on drums and Pete
Sparr on bass.
This event is FREE and open to the public. Doors open at 7pm; food will be provided by
Bashir's and a full bar will be available. Donations to the Jazz Society are
appreciated.
