Dear ,
One of the first things a prospect looks for on your web site is your client
list -- if you have one (and you should).
While prospects want to see who you've worked with, what they really
want
to know is whether you have experience working with
others like them.
But most "Client List" pages I see have only a simple, static alphabetical list of company names.
If your goal is to position your services within certain markets and to demonstrate your expertise, your
client
list should be organized to achieve that goal. Order them by category, whether by industry served or medium, or both if possible.
Here are some examples of what I mean:
Your client list should also link to actual samples of work you've done for those clients and/or to testimonials
from them. (Don't worry if every name doesn't have a link.)
Here's a client list from Lauri Baram at Panarama Design. She has categorized her clients 3 different ways,
so prospects can choose, plus many of them link to her portfolio.
So if you're planning to revamp your web site soon, be sure to focus on the client list.
And if you still don't have a web site, I have two spots left in the
Create Your Web Site Now! Online Course that starts next week. More info here.
