CEO's Corner
People do not grow old. When they
cease to grow, they become old. — Ralph Waldo Emerson
I really love that
quote. It makes you stop and think and reflect if we, as individuals are still growing.
Why do some people stop
growing? I think the main reason is that they are afraid of change. In order to grow, changes must
occur. There is no denying that. Everything is continually changing. Resisting change goes against the natural flow. Change is
nature’s way of moving forward.
In the book, “Life is an Attitude,
how to grow forever better”, Author Dottie Billington asks, ‘How to begin? You need only to take the first step, and
then a funny thing happens: One small change triggers others--for change creates its own momentum.’ Her theory ties directly into Tomboy Tools’ mission. Taking the
step, learning something new, and passing along the knowledge to others.
She teaches to write down what will
happen if you make no changes in your life. You become stuck in a never-ending rut. The rut becomes deeper with time and soon it
is hard to climb out of the rut.
Now write down the things you most want
to change and how you could reach that goal. ‘When you live proactively, you create your own future.
You plan—and achieve—the
kind of life you want.’
Don’t we all want control of
how our life progresses?
If you want it to be better, make the
change, and never stop growing!
