New Six/ $60

It's tough for us to get over just how popular these six packs have been and we apologize to those who have come in asking for one only to hear," sorry, we're out." Well now it's time for a new line-up.

The six pack is still all reds, but as it heats up we might slip in a white or two or maybe even a rosè. We would love some input on what you would like to see in the future. Send us an email or just let us know when you stop in. Here is the new line-up:

Altos de Cuadrado Jumilla

We've become huge fans of Spain's Jumilla region, where the primary grape used is Monastrell a.k.a. Mouvedre. It's just got this quality that is so distinguished and refined, yet still in your face with sunbaked fruits. This one is spicy and bright, with cherry and blackberry.

Les Garrigues Cotes du Rhone

Bright, juicy fruit fruit with lots of peppery spice on the finish. It's definitely got a place in the rustic tradtion of the Rhone, but also acknowledges modern tastes for fruit and finesse.

Woolundry Rd. Cabernet Sauvignon

Incredibly elegant and restrained for an Australian red. Super smooth, with silky tannins and really nicely integrated acidity. One we keep finding ourselves going back to…

Cycles Gladiator Syrah

A bit smokey with some earth elements. Very pretty restrained red fruit with smooth texture. Notes of mint and spice add depth. An impressive little wine.

Cellar 8 Zinfandel

Bright red in color, aromas of sweet/ dried cherry leap out at you with hints of cinnamon, cocoa, and vanilla. Nice weight with cedary spicy oak that evolves alongside bright cherry and chocolate flavors. Dry, yet juicy finish.

Boxhead Shiraz/ Cab

One of our most popular new arrivals with an impressive bouquet that runs from strawberry to plum, along with hints of bitter chocolate and espresso. Fresh sweet cherry and dark berry flavors offer impressive depth. There's a brisk energetic quality to the finish. Stylish all around, from the label to the last sip.

Lots of New Beers

Don't forget our Belgian Beer Tasting on March 19th. There are only a few spots left and it's only $10. Email or call, 615 228 3311, if you would like to attend. A few of the beers below will be featured at the tasting.

Dogfish Head Brewery

While many breweries strive to respect tradtion, adhering to the same methods for hundreds of years, Dogfish Head takes from tradition and challenges most normal perceptions of beer. Famous for their 60, 90, 120 min. IPAs--India Pale Ale-- they produce a wide range of seasonal and creative/crazy brews. Most of these are extremely limited, only a few of these offerings make it out of their HQ in Delaware. They even make a range of experimental spirits, not available here, that range from flavored rums to a tequila like beverage. We have just received a few of their limited and exciting brews.

Red & White $13 750ml

A big, Belgian-style Wit brewed with coriander and orange peel and fermented with Pinot Noir juice. After fermentation a fraction of the batch is aged in Oregon Pinot Noir barrels, and another fraction is aged on oak staves. The beer is blended together before packaging. Big and bold, there is nothing else like this.

Burton Baton $16/ 4 pack

A blend of oak-aged English strong ale and the 90 Minute IPA. Citrus notes from Northwestern hops meld with vanilla notes from the oak. Full and rich, this is a bold one even for hop-heads.

Aprihop $10/ 4 pack

A seasonal brew made with fresh apricots and finished with whole leaf hops. Subtle nose with hints of hops and faint fruit. Fresh apricots on the palate balanced nicely by bitter hops giving it a crisp finish. Tastes as if someone squeezed a few drops of apricot juice into your DFH 60 min. IPA. Amazing springtime refresher.

Bosteels Brewery

Established in 1791, Bosteels has been family owned and operated for 7 generations. Highly respected in brewer's and consumer circles alike, we are featuring two of their beers in our Begian Beer tasting on the 19th at Marché. Finally available in this market, they are an exciting expansion to our ever growing Belgian Beer selection.

Pauwel Kwak  $13 750ml

Famous as much for its traditional serving glass, pictured above, as its easy drinkabilty, Kwak is a Belgian Strong Pale Ale. Like a Belgian Pale Ale, the strong versions will also be pale to golden in color. What sets them apart is a much higher alcohol content, which in this case, is barely perceptable. The beer itself is a pretty orange amber color, giving off a slighltly tropical nose with a bit of brown sugar maltiness. A little fruity and easy going is the general character of this beer with just a touch of bitter hops to keep things balanced.

Tripel Karmeliet $13 750ml

The name "Tripel" actually stems from part of the brewing process in which brewers use up to three times the amount of malt than a standard Trappist "Simple." Bitterness is up there for a beer with such a light body for its strength, but at times is barely perceived amongst the even balance of malts and hops. This beer is lush and beautiful all around. Widely recognized as a classic Belgian Tripel.

Urthel Brewery
A new addition to the modern classics of Belgium is Urthel. Brewed by the famous, and female, Hildegard Van Ostaden,  these beers are built on tradition, yet each one bears the unique fingerprint of the maker. Hildegard's husband designed the labels and together they have created an entire world for the gnome-like characters on their labels. Started in Flanders seven years ago, Urthel moved their operations to Tilburg, Holland in the fall of 2006. Her beers are known for being idiosyncratic and being immediately appealing. These three beers will also be featured at our Belgian Beer tasting at Marché.

Hop-It $13 750ml
Inspired by the extreme styles of US microbrews--IPA, Double IPA, etc.--Hildegard wanted to create something extremely hoppy but with a touch of Belgian restraint. It's an old world take on the new world's take on an old world style. Lots of bitter hops for hop heads, yet enough intrigue to prevent this from being a one trick pony.

Samaranth Quadrium Tripel  $13 750ml
This was originally created as a seasonal beer, but demand increased so much that it is now brewed year-round. Spicy and herbaceaous with classic Belgian yeasty notes, this is refreshing and warming all at once.

Vlaemse Bock $13 750ml
A reference to the German Bock style, it seems to imply the similarities that exist in a Belgian Dubbel. Dark malty flavors abound with a rich nuttiness and enticing cocoa qualities. Rich and mouth filling with a refreshing and dry finish.
