CEO's Corner
The Holidays have come and gone, credit card bills have arrived and the scale may show a few extra pounds. New Year's resolutions have been forgotten and Punxsutawney Phil says we have 6 more weeks of winter! All of these things can make February a challenging month...or not!! It is all in your perception.
As I was reading through some of the posted messages on our forums, one in particular caught my eye. It's from one of our consultants who defines success in a slightly different way. She explains how she had driven 2 hours to her hostess' house to give a party, and once she arrived things were not so good, to say the least.
"The hostess had a horrible week and didn't talk to me at all when I walked in the door. She kicked the cat out the door, yelled at the repairman who was there fixing something and then proceeded to tell me to start because her mom and sister were here and that was all who was coming to the party"!!
Yikes! The hostess WAS having a rough day!
We all encounter similar scenarios where someone is struggling with various challenges. It is our perception of these situations that makes the difference. It is a conscious decision to perceive the world in a positive light.
Even though this consultant's initial reaction may have been to get out of there as quickly as possible, she took the other path. Although there were only two party attendees they deserved the same effort as if there were twelve. She consciously chose a different perspective in order to improve the situation.
This consultant took her time, put on a great tool party and after all was done, the hostess wanted information to sign up to be a consultant and both of the guests booked parties!!
Now that is success!
Maybe the New Year's resolutions have come and gone, but it's never too late to have a positive attitude. The key to success is a little creativity, effort and enthusiasm. Thank you to all of our consultants for this simple reminder.

Tomboy Tools partners with LP Moulding
We decided to partner with LP Moulding because they have amazing products. They are affordable, easy to install, and can make a significant improvement in any room. LP has two product lines. First is a pre-finished wood grain and pre-painted moulding and the second is a paintable stainable product. The great thing about the pre-finished moulding is you don't have to sand it, prime it, paint it or stain it so you save time AND money.
In addition to being easy to install and affordable, LP offers a quality product. It is polymer based so, unlike wood, it is resistant to cracking, splitting, and warping. It is also resistant to moister so it's a perfect product for your kitchen, bathroom or laundry room.
You can buy LP in two locations. You will find it in Lowes under the Evertrue brand and in Menards under the LP Moulding Brand.

3 Easy steps to install LP Moulding Chair Rail
Measure - To measure your wall and piece of moulding, use your Tomboy Tools fractionalized tape measure.
Cut - You don't even need a miter box to cut those 45 degree angles. Place your moulding strip on a level table top allowing the edge that you are going to cut to hang off of the table. Using the 45 degree window on your torpedo level, obtain your angle then mark with your carpenters pencil. Next use your Tomboy Tools mini hacksaw to cut the marked angle. This blade is perfect for cutting the LP Moulding material.
Attach - Find several studs in the wall by using your stud finder and laser level. Mark the studs with painters tape for easy identification. This will ensure solid attachment when nailing chair railing to your wall. Your Tomboy Tools Compressor/nailer kit works wonderfully for this!
Beautifying a room is quick and simple with Tomboy Tools and LP Moulding.
