Dear ,
With
deep gratitude for the blessings of 2006, I welcome in 2007 knowing that everything that comes into my life does so with perfect intention and
synchronicity.
The newsletter has a new look for the New
Year. Our goal is to provide useful, actionable information along with ideas to expand your thinking and your everyday experience
of prosperity.
Our new layout flows like this:
- Client focus of the month - we will continue to highlight
a client of The Advisory Team, LLC.
- Go Green – we are concerned about the
planet! We see our “green screen” portfolio management process as one piece of the solution to a sustainable
world. Voting with your money matters. Companies are listening and every year more are adding green initiatives
to their corporate culture. In addition, each year we look deeper into our operations to find more ways to be green, such as buying
wind energy credits to build windmills on Native American reservations to offset the carbon emissions from using our local utility
company. To further our green goals, we will be offering you one tip per month, something simple and actionable for you to
consider. Go green with us!
- Practical Prosperity – here we will pass on some
down to earth wisdom you can use to elevate your personal prosperity index!
- Calling all open minds – in this section
we’ll offer you an opportunity to reconsider what you see as “truth.” It is in opening ourselves to new ideas
that we grow and expand.
I hope you will enjoy the new format. As always I welcome
your feedback and comments, so don’t hesitate to let us know.
As
the year progresses, we will more clearly articulate the differences in The Advisory Team, CPA’s and Business Advisors and The Wealth Advisory
Team, Prosperity Planners and Wealth Managers. We hope to have two newsletters running by mid year, one focused on your personal
prosperity and one on your business.
Enjoy a wildly prosperous New Year, Mackey

Client Focus
As many of you know, getting a business off of the ground is no small feat. In 1994, Henry Vittetoe
met with a couple of close associates to discuss the early stages of his business, Vittetoe Interior Design. They suggested he
seek the advice of Mackey McNeill for clarity about restructuring his business and maximizing its financial potential. These
friends even went with him for the initial consultation!
In the
nearly thirteen years that Henry has been working with Mackey and The Advisory Team, he has watched his business grow by leaps and bounds.
“Roadblocks in my business have been turned into prosperous avenues that I would have never seen without the confident and intelligent
advice ‘the team’ has provided. I have learned how to manage an aggressive strategy to create my own personal wealth
that has resulted in fruition.”
Henry appreciates the
similarities he sees in the way both he and Mackey do business. Like The Advisory Team, Vittetoe Interior Design is a referral
based company striving to bring the best possible service to clients while providing them with worthwhile advice to achieve their dreams and
goals. Henry feels good when he can help someone achieve the best look at the best price. He is often told that
his knowledge has helped the client save more money than they actually spent.
The parallels between the two companies are evident. “What I get from The Advisory Team is
exactly what I give to my clients – the peace of mind that trust-worthy, honest people are providing the same advice that they use
themselves. My customer’s best interest is my top priority.”
To learn more about how to surround yourself with an environment that nurtures your everyday experience or
redesign your current home to make the most of its potential, call Henry at 859.341.3464.

Go Green
We are all bombarded with “junk” mail. Simplify your life, secure your identity, keep
your spending under control and save a few trees all in one action! Opt out of direct mail lists and unsolicited credit card
offers. Here’s how:

Practical Prosperity
News you
can use: The IRS standard mileage rate for 2007 is 48.5 cents per mile.
The New
Year is a wonderful time for resolutions, and stepping up your level of organization is one that pays dividends. An effective system can help you reduce taxes, track your spending and maximize your returns, rebates and job reimbursements.
Disorganization puts you in jeopardy of losing money, frustration and hanging in the wind should the tax person come to
call.
An effective filing system is simple.
More important than whether it is electronic or paper, is that the system be one you will maintain and use. Refrain from
creating something that is complex and hard to use. Keep it simple!
Organization is a personal preference. Find your personal organization
style and implement it. Let’s use receipts as an example of organizational variations:
- Put all your receipts in the
same place in your wallet. Organize them once a week.
- Have three compartments in your purse,
one for long term items, like taxes and big purchases, one for action receipts such as rebates or reimbursements and one for temporary slips, like ATM
and credit card receipts that you only need until your accounts are reconciled.
It has to
make sense to you. I file all paperwork for my pets under R for Roger, my dog. Someone else might have a veterinarian, dog,
or license file. Set aside time for being organized.
Make it frequent enough that the task will not overwhelm you.
One of my small business owner clients
dreaded bookkeeping and always found herself up to her ears in paperwork. Ready for change, she set aside each Monday morning to
focus on the administrative issues of her business. She found having a consistent time set aside kept her clutter under
control. To her amazement, she found peace with her paperwork!
Have a central location where all the tools you need to process paperwork are readily available, such
as:
- Stamps, pens and
checkbook or computer for bill paying.
- A filing cabinet
for storing important paperwork.
- A wastepaper bin
with shredder.
Discard things you don’t need right away. Don’t let them linger. My husband and I make a habit of sorting the
mail as soon as it comes in the house. The junk mail goes immediately into the recycle bin.
If all this talk of organizing has your head spinning and you just don’t know
where to start, hire a professional organizer to give you a boost.

Calling All Open Minds
First comes thought;
then organization of that thought, into ideas and plans; then transformation of those plans into reality. The beginning, as you will observe,
is in your imagination.
Napoleon Hill
When you were a kid, you were expected to imagine. Playing pretend was part of the childhood experience. Somewhere along the
line, a well-meaning adult told you to "grow up and quit daydreaming."
Successful people reclaim the power
of imagination as a way to shape their lives into their own creations.
Your dreams can
come true! You can guide success into your life through visualization. By clearly fixing a particular goal in your mind, the power of the
subconscious brings about the manifestation of your plans. You still have to do the work, but you've got a powerful ally on the inside of the
wheel of fate.
In a recent USA Today interview, Will Smith, one of Hollywood's most bankable stars,
spoke about how he deliberately visualized every move of his career, from rapper, to sitcom star, to selecting the right movies to break into
Hollywood. People who have worked with him say he has unlimited energy and infectious enthusiasm. He believes he can do anything he sets his
mind to do!
In addition to relentless practice, sports legends such as Tiger Woods, Mohammed Ali,
and Michael Jordan have all incorporated rituals that involve visualizing outcomes. Whether used for sports, business, or life, it's all the
same approach. Visualize your own success!
Legendary golfer, Jack Nicklaus said he never takes
a shot without having a clear image of it in his mind. "First I 'see' where I want the ball to finish. Then I 'see' it going there, its
trajectory and landing. The next 'scene' shows me making the swing that will turn the previous images into reality." Nicklaus's approach
obviously works.
To make visualization work for you:
- Be as specific as possible - see, smell and taste your goal, but most important, feel it. Feelings are your most powerful motivator. Sit quietly,
visualize your dream, and feel the array of feelings it invokes.
- Visualize often. Years ago I recorded a tape describing my life as I wanted it to be, in present tense of course, and played it each morning on
my way to work, and each day on the way home. Slowly at first, then faster, my dreams began to manifest in my everyday life.
- Make your imagination time specific. Imagine your boss talking to you about your promotion in the summer of 2007.
- Bring your vision into physical form by writing, drawing or painting.
- Banish all negative thoughts. When they return out of habit, thank them for their past service, and release them. Imagine your negative thoughts
floating away.
- Be gratitude. Especially when you are discouraged, make a list of everything in your life in this moment for which you are grateful. Imagine your
goal, and purposefully place your feelings of gratitude in your vision.
