Luciani, former NEPA Board Chairperson, this regionalism award represents the pure dedication which Mr. Luciani displayed for the people of our region, his passion for economic growth throughout the region and the hard work that formed the foundation and advancement of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Alliance (NEPA) as the premier regional economic and community organization for Northeastern Pennsylvania.

FOCUS 81 NEWS CONFERENCE - FOCUS 81 TO ANNOUNCE FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE I-81 EXPANDED CORRIDOR STUDY

SUMMARY:   The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) selected Pennoni

                     Associates, Inc., a multi-disciplined engineering firm to complete the I-81

                     Expanded Corridor Study on a targeted section of I-81 stretching from Nanticoke in

                     Luzerne County to Waverly in Lackawanna County.  The purpose of the study is to

                     identify system deficiencies and develop strategies for efficient operation, improved

                     safety and accommodation of anticipated traffic growth on this section of I-81. 

 

                     Pennoni Associates will conduct a brief presentation highlighting the findings of the

                     I-81 Expanded Corridor Study and officials from PennDOT, the Focus 81 Committee

                     along with Representatives James Wansacz and John Yudichak will be on hand to

                     offer comments and answer questions from the media and general public.

About the LTAP Program

The PennDOT Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) has been serving Pennsylvania’s municipalities with transportation road maintenance and safety training since 1983.  Services available through LTAP include workshop training, on-site technical assistance, updates on the latest technologies and innovations, field demonstrations, library and information materials, and newsletters.  These services are available to all municipalities in the state and are provided at little or no cost to the user. All LTAP training workshops are free to all employees of municipalities, counties, government authorities and agencies. Others (consultants, engineers, developers, homeowners associations) interested can register based on classroom availability.
