Harlem Village Academy's Nick Timpone among 2007 American
Stars of Teaching honorees:
The Center congratulates Harlem Village Academy's Nick Timpone on his selection by the U.S. Department of
Education as a 2007 American Stars of Teaching award winner. Now in its fourth year, the award recognizes some of the nation's most highly effective
teachers and professional across all grade levels and disciplines. A selection committee comprised of former K-12 teachers reviewed 4,000 nominations
for the 2007 awards. One American Star were honored in each state and the District of Columbia. Five charter school teachers and professionals were
among the award winners.
Nominations for the 2008 American Stars of Teaching will be accepted beginning in January
