Valerie Smaldone and Arthur Schwartz now featured at The Three Tomatoes

Valerie’s Gallery features Valerie Smaldone’s inside scoop on NYC Nightlight; The Food Maven features Arthur Schwartz on everything foodies will love

The Three Tomatoes now features two New York City based celebrities, media personality and 5 time Billboard Magazine winner, Valerie Smaldone, and award winning cookbook author and food expert, Arthur Schwartz,  at its popular web site and e-newsletter focused on “women who aren’t kids.” Valerie’s Gallery hosts Valerie’s weekly blog on New York City nightlife happenings, ticket giveaways to shows and events, plus audio and video celebrity interviews.  The Food Maven highlights a weekly food blog by Arthur Schwartz, recipes from his award winning cook books, NYC restaurant reviews, and more.

“Valerie and Arthur are fabulous additions to our web site and e-newsletter which is an insider’s guide to living, playing, and having fun in and out of New York City”, says Cheryl Benton, founder and publisher of The Three Tomatoes.  “Valerie and Arthur are well known to our audience of dynamic mid-life women who have no desire to be kids, but still want to have a ball and enjoy this phase of their lives to the fullest, whether it’s enjoying a great night out in NYC, savoring great food, or entertaining at home.”

Valerie Smaldone, a 5 time Billboard Magazine Award winner, is perhaps best known for her unprecedented success holding the #1 position in the New York radio market as the midday host of New York’s 106.7 FM. She ended her on air run with the station at the end of 2007. In addition, she was the co-creator, writer, producer and host of “Spotlight On,” a nationally syndicated program that featured in-depth interviews with top recording artists such as Paul McCartney, Elton John, Sting and Celine Dion, to name a few.

Presently, Valerie can be heard on NBC Network News promos and specialty shows and as the announcer for The Boomer Esiason Show on MSG.   And she can be seen on The Italian American Network, where she producers and interviews prominent Italian Amerians.  Valerie has been the “Voice of God” and on stage emcee for Broadway on Broadway in Times Square, Broadway Under the Stars, and Broadway Meets Country.  In addition, her event production company, Two Sides of a Coin, has produced four very successful live events for The Three Tomatoes.

“I’ve been a big fan of The Three Tomatoes e-newsletter from its start, almost three years ago,” says Valerie Smaldone.  “I love its focus on fun and enjoying ourselves at every age and stage of our lives, and I’m delighted to contribute content to the web site.”

The New York Times Magazine called Arthur Schwartz “a walking Google of food and restaurant knowledge.” As the restaurant critic and executive food editor of the New York Daily News, which he was for 18 years, he was called The Schwartz Who Ate New York. Nowadays, he is best known as The Food Maven, the name of his website. Whatever the sobriquet, he is acknowledged as one of the country’s foremost experts on food, cooking, culinary history, restaurants, and restaurant history.   Over the 37 years of his career, he has written five award-winning cookbooks, including “Arthur Schwartz’s New York City Food: An Opinionated History with Legendary Recipes,” which was named 2005 Cookbook of the Year by the International Association of Culinary Professionals (IACP), as well as best book on an American subject. It was also nominated for a James Beard book award.  His latest book, Arthur Schwartz's Jewish Home Cooking: Yiddish Recipes Revisted has just been released.

The Three Tomatoes reaches just the kind of smart, savvy women we appreciate, because they’ve reached a stage in their life where the quality of food matters, and they’re voracious students of the culinary arts", says Arthur Schwartz.  “These are the women who buy my cookbooks, and visit my cooking school in Italy.”

The Three Tomatoes is a web site and free weekly e-newsletter written for “women who aren’t kids”.  It’s the New York City insiders guide to living, playing, and having fun in and out of New York City.  The weekly newsletter missives provide a balance of service, irreverent humor, passionate storytelling and the need-to-know information on everything from beauty products to the best dining establishments to exotic travel to the latest technology.
