The Oz Club means more than putting miles on your bike.  For me and for many others it also means having fun, making lifetime friends and helping others.

It’s much more enjoyable riding with others.  Miles seem to go faster.  It is also easier to tough it out on bad riding days when you have to fight a headwind, ride in bad weather, rain or the cold.  Bikes are able to visit places you would not see in a car and meet and visit the locals.  If the weather is really bad, a cyclist loves to eat and visit with others.  Many new friends have been made on bike rides.

Oz Website News

There is a new link on the ozbikeclub.com website that will take you to a screen where you can register for the new electronic newsletter.  Roxanne Wright has been busy creating an electronic version of the Oz newsletter and it will be delivered to your email box after you register through the website.  Please do!  We're hoping that most of our members opt for the electronic version of the newsletter, saving the club money over printing and mailing the paper version.  Please subscribe and give it a try.

Soon following, we'll have membership registration available online, along with registration for the Wicked Wind.  And, in addition, there will be a whole new look to the website, too.

     Be on the lookout!

Editors-at-Large

It always amazes me how maligned we bicyclists are among society as a whole.  I have many e-mail accounts in which I am informed of the different opinions of drivers concerning sharing the road with us two-wheelers.  Most recent, in fact, is currently on the insane medium of Facebook which jokes of drivers telling us to get off the road & stay on the bike paths where we belong. This “joking” includes the game of bumping us off the road & taking care of the “problem” altogether.
