2010 January Oz News
Wiz Words
by Jeanne Forbes

I would like to introduce myself as the new Wizard for 2010.  My name is Jeanne Forbes.  I have been a member of the Oz Club for over twenty years.  I began biking in 1981 when I did my first RAGBRAI.  Since then I have biked RAGBRAI twenty times and BAK twenty-one times.  For the past 7 ½ years you can see me riding a Wiz Wheel Trike with a bright green big frog named Fred on my bike bag.  If you see me on the road be sure to say hi.  I enjoy rail to trail rides, self-contained rides and exploring new places to ride.  Besides biking I enjoy reading, going to WSU women’s volleyball and women’s basketball games, and making therapy visits with my four-year-old therapy dog, Allie.

Oz Website News

Please be looking for some new features on the Oz Website.  In early 2010 we hope to make available an electronic version of the Oz Newsletter.  Electronic delivery is less expensive, "greener" than the printed paper variety and faster, too!  Also, by spring, we hope to have online membership registration available.  You'll be able to save the stamp, the check and the paperwork and instead renew online.  We're excited about these changes and hope you are too.  Visit http://ozbikeclub.com/ often to check for updates.

A Great Big Thank You!
From Wanda Groves

Wanda wanted us to tell everyone that sent a card, called her and came to visit her THANK YOU.  It really means a lot to her that everyone is thinking about her.  She is in great spirits and is doing well.  So keep sending cards, calling and visiting her.  We hope that she will get to come home soon.  If you need more information about Wanda please call or e-mail us at (316) 796-0576 or ozbikeclub@yahoo.com.

Editors’ Bike Corner
by Jay & Roxanne Wright
Editors-at-Large

With yet another bicycling season under our saddles, it is the time of year once again to thank each & every one of the Ozzies who made 2009 a good year for the Club.  Are we where we want to be as far as a voice for the bicycling community? No, but I feel as though we have made some headway towards making it possible to be a bit safer while we are correctly sharing the roadway with others.

Social Report
