It all started with a dream to transform the city of Tampa, Florida by reaching out to those who don't go to church. They began small, with an average attendance of 70 people, and met at an apartment clubhouse before moving on to the local YMCA.

"In just five years and two months, we went from an average attendance of 70 to 750 people," said Founding Pastor Brad White. "Hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people were saved."

Before long LifePoint outgrew the YMCA and, while sitting in traffic in a bustling area of the city, Pastor White noticed a Winn-Dixie grocery store for sale.

"It was one of the only vacant buildings in the sprawling area. That building was really a holy place for me," Pastor White said. "My apartment was right behind the Winn-Dixie. I would shop there and put my hand on the building and pray that God would provide a building like this one day for our church."

When the church decided to purchase the Winn-Dixie, they had $150,000 in their building fund and they had to raise $2 million to get financing. Although church members contributed $1 million to the building fund in just one month, Pastor White said banks still would not lend the money needed.

"Someone put us in touch with Strongtower - God connected us with Strongtower - and we were able to finance the project," Pastor White said. "God moves heaven and earth when you make lost people the priority."

Since LifePoint's doors opened this spring at their new location, their average attendance has grown to 1,500 and there were 2,140 people in attendance on Easter. Pastor White attributes this growth to obedience and fishing.

"We fish. We know the fish we're trying to catch, which are un-churched people living in this community," Pastor White said. "We're focused on the bait that catches them and we put a lot of bait in the water."
