And just like that, we are into another year. The Peterson team have had a relaxing couple of weeks, enjoying beaches along the New Zealand and Australian coasts, but now we are back ready to serve you for another year. It's going to be a big year with trips to Australia, Europe, Africa and America, all on the cards.

It's just a short 'Cutting Comments' this month due to the Christmas break, so we're giving you a fun challenge that will help pass the time on these lazy summer days.

Enjoy, and as always, feel free to send us your comments or suggestions.

Happy New Year,
from the Team here at Peterson's

PLAY TIME - Bubbels!

This game is so easy, but sooooo addictive. The CEOs, Chris and Kerris, have been having jousting matches after work every evening, and now the staff are getting in on it too. Chris is beating everyone so far, with an unbelievable score. And he's only getting better

All you need to do is point and shoot. Three balls of the same colour together gives you your points, and bonus points are given when you isolate a ball, by popping the ones around it. It'll make sense once you get started!

Have a go and if you are proud of your score, send it through to us. We've got a score board on the Peterson website, so keep checking in to see how you are doing. Whoever can beat Chris' score might just win themselves a great prize!

"A Peterson Christmas"

While we are enjoying a balmy summer here in New Zealand, many in the Northern Hemisphere are eagerly awaiting for Spring to come so they can get back outside.

Until then though, one of our owners thought he would include his Peterson sawmill in the Christmas celebrations, so he's given it a more festive feel with the addition of some coloured lights, holly - and of course Santa.

We think it looks beautiful! Check it out online.

FOREST INDUSTRIES 2006
Mark this in your diary NOW!

In March this year, Rotorua will host one of the biggest forestry shows in the Southern Hemisphere. New Zealand's forestry and wood processing industries will be on display, and also be joined by some of the world's leading brands.

We've put together a special package to make it even easier for you to join us for the show. Included are airfares to Rotorua (if required), accommodation, tickets to the show, and three fantastic tourist attractions.

Find out more information on the website, or email Darnielle for a quote.

JOKE OF THE MONTH
A religious battle of golf

The Pope met with the College of Cardinals to discuss a proposal from the Shimon Peres, the former leader of Israel.

"Your holiness," said one of the Cardinals, "Mr. Peres wants to determine whether Jews or Catholics are superior, by challenging you to a golf match". The Pope was greatly disturbed, as he had never held a golf club in his life.

"Not to worry," said the Cardinal, "we'll call America and talk to Jack Nicklaus. We'll make him a Cardinal, he can play Shimon Peres... we can't lose" Everyone agreed it was a good idea. The call was made and, of course, Jack was honoured and agreed to play.

The day after the match, Nicklaus reported to the Vatican to inform the Pope of his success in the match. "I came in second, your Holiness," said Nicklaus.

"Second?!!" exclaimed the surprised pope. "You came in second to Shimon Peres?!!"

"No," said Nicklaus, "second to Rabbi Woods."

Did you know that population growth alone is increasing demand for wood by 77 million cubic metres every year?
