founded by local educators who joined with community members and local parents to create an educational alternative in the north central

Rockaway school will offer a school day that runs from 8:30 am to 4 pm, Saturday classes for students who need more help, and a longer school year to

a rigorous academic program with an extensive series of social support services to meet the needs of the community. The school will open with 90
students in grades K-1, and eventually grow to serve 314 students in grades K-8. Although open to all students, the school is specifically
designed to serve at risk students who are currently in the foster care and child welfare system.
