Chateau Pesquié Quintessence- was $24 now
$17
From the moment we tried it, this has been one of our favorite reds in the store. At $24, it has been
a bit of a tough sell, although we have seen lots of customers return to it after trying it. After lots of negotiation, haggling, and tasting revisits
we are extremely excited to offer it for only $17.
An 80% Syrah, 20% Grenache blend from an underappreciated area of the Rhône Valley (Cotes du
Ventoux) pictured above. The nose explodes with violets. Everything is impeccably present: depth, body, structure, fruit, and most importantly,
balance. Subtle notes of dark, rich fruits adorn the palate, along with hints of herbs, licorice, and a woodsy character. A truly delicious red with
a meaty, gripping finish. An affordable alternative to Chateauneuf- du- Pape; this is serious wine!
The Show- was $17 now $14
Besides the cool Nashville connection (the labels pay homage to our own Hatch Show Print), this is a
very enjoyable, and affordable California Cab! Lots of fruit (dark cherry, raspberry, and cassis) with a bit of sweet clove and cigar. Easy to
drink, with medium tannins.
Stephen Vincent Crimson - was $11 now $9
Quite an elegant little blend for the price! A blend of 75% Syrah and 25% Cab, it's medium bodied
with plenty of ripe red fruits and a hint of darker fruit forming a rich base. The tannins are soft and welcoming, making this an easy drinking, yet
substantial, wine. One of the best value winemakers in California in our opinion.

Bourbon Season is Here
What exactly constitutes Bourbon? It is an American form of whiskey named for Bourbon County, Kentucky, and consists of at least 51%
corn — typically about 70% — with the remainder being wheat and/or rye, and malted barley. It is aged in new charred oak barrels for at
least two years. However, in practice, most bourbon whiskeys are aged for at least four years.
This week the New York Times reviewed a slew of
bourbons. Many we have and love, while some are so limited, we may never see anything other than a picture of the bottle. The encouraging part is
that we carry 6 out of the top 10, including 2 of the top 3.

Other Bourbon Favorites
Responsible for the Pappy Van Winkle, Buffalo Trace Distillery also
make a wide range of bourbons and are probably the most decorated of any distillery in the world. Buffalo Trace was the first American distiller to
be named "Distillery of the Year". Some of their other labels that we carry are:
-
Geroge T. Stagg $70
-
Eagle Rare 10yr $30, 17yr $70
-
W.L. Weller 7yr $15
-
Rip Van Winkle 10yr, $30
-
Van Winkle Special Reserve 12 yr, $40
-
Van Winkle Family Reserve Rye 13yr, $48
-
Pappy Van Winkle 15yr, $55
-
Buffalo Trace $23
All appealing for unique reasons, these are some of our favorite Bourbons
in the store; perhaps it's not a coincidence that they came from the same distillery?
