SQL Server 2005

Home infusion software companies have been busy the last few years incorporating Microsoft SQL Server technology into their applications. Most of you have been busy selecting and implementing these systems.

Microsoft has been busy too.  With the release of SQL Server 2005 in late 2005, they have launched a comprehensive set of business intelligence, data integration, security, reporting, networking and IT management features.  So much so that in time this application may become the most underutilized application you own.  You see, SQL Server is more than a replacement for an outdated file format, it's a robust application filled with integration and reporting services, the ability to automitcally notify you of important business conditions and trigger events based on pre-defined rules and much, much more.

Here at Rock-Pond Solutions we are excited about the power of SQL Server 2005 and are working hard to find ways to help you realize and extend the value from your investment in this technology.  More to come in 2007.

Be A Hero Campaign Expanded - everyone gets a free report!
Rock-Pond Solutions launched our Be A Hero campaign in September, promoting free services from us and two of our partners that are certain to make the person who recommends them a hero in their company.

With the expansion of our development team, we are excited to offer any home infusion provider a free report they can use as many times as they want to get the information they need from their data.  Consider replacing a process where you manually enter information from a system report into Excel to reformat your data. Or, replace a 100 page report with a summary report grouped by the categories you need to give you exactly what you need.  Call us at 501-450-6446 and discuss your information needs.

Provider Turns to Rock-Pond Solutions For Market Analysis

It's important to know where your referrals are coming from, which sales reps are generating the referrals and the physicians that are writing the orders.

How would you like to know which referrals you are not getting, whose sales territory they are in and the names of the physicians writing orders and delivering them to your competitors?  Delivering this information is a challenge we've accepted from one of our customers.  Ideas are buzzing here about the possibilities and value of this approach to strategic business planning and market analysis.  We'll give you an update in the next Rock-Solid Intelligence.

Need help with your business?  Contact Rock-Pond Solutions.  If we can't help you we are sure one of our business partners can.
Home Infusion Reports

Report of the Month

Each month Rock-Solid Intelligence features a report from Home Infusion Reports that give you critical business information from the data you already have.  With Holiday spirit in the air, we thought we'd give two reports this month!

Patient Medication Profile

JCAHO requires that you provide patients with their current medication profile upon discharge.  Recently a provider decided they wanted to have a med profile other than the one provided by their software.  In addtion, they needed to eliminate abbreviations automatically inserted by their software.  Home Infusion Reports delivered a medication profile that can be included with a mail merge letter and fit in a window envelope.  Add the ability to print based on discharge date and you've got a real time-saver.

Collection Velocity Report

A key to managing the financial aspect of your home infusion business is to know how quickly you collect cash and the percentage of cash collected for a revenue period.  The cash velocity report shows this in a very concise format with the ability to view an entire year of billing on one page.

NHIA Listserv Lessons
The NHIA Listserv is a members-only resource for home infusion providers to get quick answers to any question or concern they have from their peers across the country. Each month Rock-Pond Solutions selects a listserv thread and summarizes it here for you.

Patient Financial Responsibility Quotations

A home infusion pharmacy quotes patient financial responsibility in writing prior to the start of IV therapy.  After billing, the pharmacy learns that the patient responsibility is different (less or greater) than what was quoted.  Is the pharmacy bound by the written quote, or does the payer have the final say about the patient's financial responsibility, as per plan requirements?

Learn from the NHIA member responses.

These and other questions are posed, discussed and answered every day on the NHIA listserv. The listserv is a member benefit you should take advantage of.  If you are not a NHIA member, Rock-Pond Solutions recommends you join today.
