Good things come in threes
If you’re like The Three Tomatoes, you are now in that headlong rush into the holidays
with too much to do in too little time. As we were putting up the holidays decorations we were thinking, didn’t we just
take these down? And by the way, is it just us or are people really decorating earlier and earlier, like before the Thanksgiving
turkey is even out of the oven. We have to keep reminding ourselves to slow down, breath deeply, and just take a few minutes for
ourselves. So tomatoes, take a few minutes out of your crazy day, pour yourself a martini (or whatever your favorite
relaxation beverage may be), and read this delightful story of threes (our favorite number your know), which was sent to us by Caroline Hunt and
written in such great tomato style, that we are printing it without a change. Enjoy!
Highlands, Islands, Curry's and NY Deli's - A Tale of Three
Places
Born and bred Londoner, Caroline Hunt, was dismayed when her long time masseur told her she was giving up her practice to
attend London’s famous St Martins College of Art. However, they stayed in touch and a friendship blossomed - even when Elisabeth de Las Cases went to live on
the remote Scottish Hebridean island of Uist to paint the rugged, wild landscapes of the highlands and islands.
Meanwhile, Caroline
accepted a great job offer and promptly jumped on a plane to New York City, where she was greatly impressed by a junior member of her sales team, Ari Vais, who painted large, gritty,
earthy scenes of New York when he was supposed to be working.
Later, when she came to buy her dream loft in Soho, she hired Sangeeta, a
beautiful Indian real estate broker to help find the perfect apartment. Sadly, catastrophe struck, and immediately after the sale closed, the
building shifted irreparably, leaving Caroline in a state of limbo. The poor broker, although entirely blameless, was distraught. She
said that from now on her home was Caroline's home. Never one to miss a chance of a real curry, (after all, she is British), she hotfooted it
over to Sangeeta's. When she got there, she was amazed to see Sangeeta's father, Sam Rai, in his studio, painting the most beautiful, serene and allegorical scenes of India.
Now
the three artists have been brought together and are about to have their first New York Exhibition at The Gelabert Gallery, 255 West 86th Street, NY
10024. The opening night reception will be December 5th from 5pm - 8pm, and runs until 16th December. Caroline and her three friends will all be
there, hoping to share a glass of wine with as many fellow tomatoes as possible. You can feast your eyes at Worlds Apart Gallery. Caroline can be reached on 212 677 4582. Oh and there's a 10% discount on any of the paintings you
purchase just for being a tomato.
The Three Tomatoes can’t wait to meet Caroline’s
three friends. Hopefully we’ll see you there and share a glass of wine.
‘til next week,
The Three
Tomatoes
