Merlot for Marcy

-

Marcy has still been feeling feverish. She has received an infusion of gamma globulin each week and has felt better after each one. We hope to continue these treatments and they will help her body build her immune system and better fight infection. And she has some sort of complexion issue going on now for which she could use some prayer.

She has made it out of the house a few times since our last email. Click on the following links to see the daily log entry for details on each day's outing: 8/8 - a marathon 8 hour Wal-Mart visit; 8/11 Darcy's pool party at Garland's; 8/13-15 emergency trip to the hospital for throat swelling, 8/20 three hour outing to the Hallmark store and Michael's, 8/27 healing service at church.

And you may also want to read the post from 8/16 - an emotional day as Matt left for college and we couldn't take him. The post for 8/25 about his gay roommates is more upbeat. And Marcy's parents visited for a few days since our last email, lifting her spirits.

Flowers for Marcy (announced in our last email) has been a big blessing and raises Marcy's spirits daily.

When we first created the site, we had the flowers set to expire in 30 days. We have revised that now so that flowers will stay and (hopefully) fill the yard. And we have added a variety of flowers, hoping to add more fun.

Please keep telling your friends about the site: our friends Dyan and Karla got us some exposure on the most popular morning drive time show in Nashville, the Gerry House show on The Big 98 and we immediately saw some new donations. Click here to hear.

If you have a web site or myspace page, or know someone who does, we would appreciate a link to FlowersForMarcy.com. Since this fund raiser is totally internet based, we are thinking the most effective way of telling people about it will be via the web.

And we have posted a unique, one-of-a-kind flower up for bidding on eBay to be planted on FlowersForMarcy.com. It's pretty cool with a good story of why Marcy loves this flower. More than selling at a high price, I'm hoping it drives some traffic to the site for other donations. If you have a minute, check it out and make a bid so strangers (and new friends) will find it more desirable!

Our friends Barbara and Beverly (the Saucy Sisters) have scheduled a wine tasting party to benefit Marcy September 13, 2007. Marcy really wants to go to this - Barbara and Beverly are so much fun. Click here for details and to make a reservation, if you can join us.

They are also putting together a list of cool items for auction eBay. First thing on the list is a chance to be on TV: they're auctioning off a chance to be in The Saucy Sisters' TV pilot they are shooting at the end of September. This will be posted to eBay by September 6.

To see all the items we have for sale on eBay now (or anytime) click here.

I made a counter top table tent for the Merlot for Marcy wine tasting event that anyone can download, print, ask permission, and put anywhere people will see it: wine stores, other retailers, bulletin boards, gyms, office break rooms. If you think of a place that is perfect for this and live in the Nashville area, please print a couple of these and put them out for us. It prints on standard 8 1/2 x 11 paper and simple assembly instructions are right on the sheet.

And another friend has come up with another fund raiser for us. Emilie is a rep for ADS Security. She and her company are putting in a security system and monthly monitoring for a year for us at no charge. Marcy loves this system because it has a life alert panic button on the keypad and one by the bed. Each panic button calls paramedics when pushed and includes important information about our particulars here at home: Marcy's condition, how Marcy communicates, how many pets are in the home, etc.

Emilie will also pay us $50 for each referral that leads to the sale of a security system. And if we supply seven referrals, we will get free monitoring for life. If you or anyone you know is thinking of getting a security system or updating their current one, please contact Emilie. And please tell her Rob & Marcy sent you so we get credit for the referral.

Fungal testing update: We are still waiting on test results.

Still for Sale:

We still have the motor home. Click here for more RV info.

And we still have Marcy's Hoveround power wheelchair. If you know someone who needs one, please tell them to check it out at EveryDayIsPrecious.com/ForSale/

Both kids are fine. Matt seems to be OK at college and Darcy likes being "at the top of the heap" - in the 8th grade - the oldest class in middle school and being able to sit in the back of the bus.

Darcy is still making movies. I think my favorite since the last email is Clown Town. I know she is my daughter, but I think this is clever - especially the clown face "make up" they created.

There are lots of dinner openings in September. Click here to see the schedule and click here if you can bring dinner for us.

If you missed any of my weekly columns in the Tennessean the last few weeks, and want to read some of them, here are links to the Tennessean site for ones written since our last email:

8/10 Around Wally World

8/17 Flowers and Love for Marcy

8/24 Merlot for Marcy

We continue to be blessed daily. Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers.

And please send your prayer requests so I can give them to Marcy.

We still believe daily and we thank God for your prayer and care.

Love.
