Pray for Plasmapherwhattus?
-
It looks like we have finally been approved for plasmapheresis and that Marcy will be admitted to
Vanderbilt tomorrow
(Monday) - probably for five days or so. Marcy asked me to write you to ask for prayer for success - that this is God's tool to help facilitate her
healing.
The pain we reported last email finally subsided a couple of weeks ago and Dr. Reid's
other ALS patient has received a total of two 5-day plasmapheresis treatments and continues to improve. For the five months prior to treatment he was
unable to stand and now can walk (using a walker.)
I plan to post daily updates from the hospital. Click here to see all the latest daily log entries and
for up-to-date
reports on her condition.

We want to thank everyone who has signed our petition for the TV show Extreme
Makeover: Home Edition. And especially everyone who forwarded the petition to their friends - it has really taken off. As I write this, there are
over 11,000 signatures.
The show has had our application for a few weeks now, but until we hear from
producers, we are still asking people to sign. We
don't
know when they will look at the web site.

Flowers for
Marcy still blesses us and raises Marcy's spirits almost daily.
We still would like to fill the yard. When we first launched the site, it was set so
that flowers would expire in 30 days and people who planted a flower would get a reminder/request to renew. Now the site is set so that flowers do
not expire.
We are now asking anyone who is able to plant a new flower when they can.

Both kids are fine. Matt seems to like college and is starting to be (and/or we are
starting to think of him as) an adult. He is home this weekend for Fall Break, so we get to see him for a few minutes between his visits with
friends.
| Marcy got to visit Matt at school 10/8. Here are Matt, Marcy, Darcy, and Cricket
in the courtyard of Matt's dorm. See the whole story on the 10/9 daily post. |

Darcy talked about going white water rafting for over a year - ever since I told her
they do that close to where Matt is going to college. When we were in Chattanooga 10/8, the whole way there, and the whole way back, she said she
still wanted to do that. I told her we would and she said, "Is this one of the things that we have to wait for Mommy to get better to do?"
I thought of the vacations and other activities for which I have said that. And I
thought of how quickly Matt grew up. So we did it. This is us (l-r) - our guide, Tater, Darcy's friend Kristina, me, Darcy's friend Hadley, Darcy,
and Leza (a guide-in-training.) If you watch this animated picture a couple of seconds, you'll see some of the action we saw.
See the whole story, including why Matt didn't go and where Marcy was, on the 10/14 and 10/15 daily posts.
