Clarification from WIAA
The cheer company Pac West Spirit Group announced that their Cheer and Dance Apple Cup Regional Championship, to be held in Tacoma on January 26, 2008, is a WIAA sanctioned event. This is not true!  The WIAA sanctioned event on January 26 is the WIAA sponsored "Salute to Spirit." For additional information or clarification contact Cindy Hettinger at chettinger@wiaa.com

GREETINGS
A quote in the article "Why Do You Go" by Jim Skeel in Washington Trail magazine reminded me of the allure of Nature.

"For true living, full emersion, deep sensory experiential life, you need a woodland trail. To do it right you need to think back to when you were five years old and a walk on a trail held a major discovery every three feet. Your parent's desire to reach the destination was completely foreign to you; your only interest was the here-and-now in a twenty foot radius."

As we go through our normal days in our familar settings, we need to remember that "major discoveries" abound all around us; we just need to look at the people and places in our lives as a five year old would
. Forget about the destination. Focus on what is directly in front of us as if we were experiencing it for the first time.
