June 2007

Greetings!

Gift List Media customers jumped at the chance to showcase their products at a media show earlier this month.

Nicole Vance, the event coordinator for the show's host, invited the participation of Gift List Media.  I was pleased to inform my newsletter audience about this opportunity, and was pleasantly surprised to discover your enthusiasm for this type of media outreach.

As soon as I realized how many of my subscribers were attending, I knew I had to host a breakfast in order to have them to myself before the media started to file through.  This was the highlight of my year!

After many long phone conversations, it was such a pleasure to have this opportunity.  Many of the great relationships I'd built over the years were no longer have been exclusively over the phone and email.

I even had the chance to eat breakfast and chat with The Gift List's very first subscriber, Beverly Steinberg from GBL Public Relations attending with her client, Sanyo.

Moving forward, Gift List Media will now be partnering with Nicole Vance, event coordinator extraordinaire, of adVance Public Relations, to incorporate media events into our ever-expanding suite of products and services designed to serve the public relations community.

Nicole has experience coordinating media events, large and small, for a variety of clients.  She brings a wealth of media contacts and a strong relationship with many New York venues.

The Gift List has always been the go-to resource for seasonal media with two focused database products, The Gift List for Holiday and The Gift List for Spring.  We will begin by launching an event timed perfectly with the launch of each database.

I am thrilled to feature some of The Gift List subscribers below.  I must admit, I feel a bit like a mother hen, but still get excited when I see ink for any of my subscribers.  And it's an honor to share their success with my entire newsletter audience.

Please visit Our Events page on the website for more information on our upcoming schedule of media events.

Have a great week.

Cheers,

Amy

For those of you who know The Gift List postcards that arrive faithfully in your mailbox each year when it's time to starting thinking about the holiday pitching season, you'll recognize this phrase from our "Early Birds Really Do Get The Worm" postcard:

Enjoy the sweet smell of success come December.

Well, sometimes you don't have to wait until December. . .

Gift List Media subscribers enjoyed the opportunity to meet Holiday Gift Guide and New Products Editors at New York's Marriott Marquis in Times Square.

Gab Masterson, long time subscriber to The Gift List.  He and his wife, Nelleke, own three companies, Crescent Moon Yoga, Mobile Edge, and Kena Kai.

. . . Sometimes, success is only a keystroke and a couple hours away.

Literally within hours of bidding farewell to old friends and new acquaintances, I found Gearlog: A Gadget Guide by Geeks for Geeks featuring their favorites from the show in Gadget Gift Preview: a Gearlog Field Trip.

Gealog said this about Pop Arts toast creations,  "We've covered more toast-related gadgets than may be seemly here on Gearlog.  But this one is not to be resisted!"

Gearlog proved that even tech geeks know georgous Italian leather when they see it.  Gearlog raved,  "Kena Kai's new DataSafe Wallets prove that blocking your information from RFID data theft doesn't mean you can't be fashionable."

We were thrilled to find out that a number of subscribers to The Gift List were featured in an Associated Press's online ASAP's Annals of Marketing blog just a week later (June 17, 2007).

Stephanie Hoo and Derrik J. Lang interviewed consumer product representatives from both the Licensing Expo and this event as part of a national trend for personalized and customized products.

The video from their blog post shows both events.  Click on the link that says, "See the video here."

Tirza Wibel owns a boutique agency, Brand Bloom, in  Oregon, and was new to The Gift List this year.

Tirza exhibited three of her clients products, and if you watch the video you can see the charming Tirza interviewed by the Associated Press!
