Manskers Fort under a blanket of snow, captured February 2006.

 Dear ,

Welcome to the first edition of Historic Mansker's Station's e-newsletter! Over the last year, our staff and volunteers have greatly increased their efforts to become more visible in the community, region, and state. Through this newest tool, we can not only keep in contact with our local friends, but expand to reach our guests in other states and countries. (Each year we welcome numerous guests from England, Ireland, Canada, and even Holland!) To reach our wide audience, and of course be environmentally friendly, we are excited to offer the Historic Mansker's Station e-newsletter. This newsletter will provide readers with information regarding our upcoming special events and programs, various opportunities on ways in which you can help, and a few surprises along the way...

Did You Know?

The image above was taken during a snowfall in February of 2007. Did you know that when Kasper Mansker and his group arrived in the winter of 1779 that it was recorded as the 4th coldest in the colonies existence? In fact, it was so cold that the Cumberland River was frozen!
