On what a night and no kids allowed
You know that horrible feeling you get in the pit of your stomach when you're
throwing a party and you fear no one will show up? And then of course they do and you realize how silly you were to think
they wouldn't. Well thanks to all of you who showed up last night at the first The Three Tomatoes "live"event at the Pen and Brush. What a fun time we had, heat wave and all, celebrating our
first anniversary and "women who aren't kids."
The Ketel One Three Tomatoes ‘tini's were the perfect summer drink.
(See the recipe in the side bar.) Sir John
Wincroft's smoked salmon tasting stirred much debate over whether the Irish, Scottish, or Norway was the best smoked salmon you've ever
tasted. The 10 minute massages in the garden patio, courtesy of Taylor Techniques, were so popular that every time slot was filled in the first half hour of the
event.
And The Three Tomatoes (after a couple of martinis of course) took full advantage of all the shopping opportunities and now own jewelry and handbags,
seasonings and spices, anti-aging creams, lotions, and makeup which even in the sober light of day, we still
love.
We're not eating for the next two days after having gorged ourselves on the
great food that was catered by Tony's Di Napoli, the gourmet cookies from Curious Cookies, and our new favorite wines ,Simonsig and Mount Riley, from
Quitessential Wines. And by the way, did we mention that Tony's owner is one gorgeous hunky guy? Check
him out in person at their Times Square Restaurant.
After hearing Laura Kauffman tell us how facial acupuncture stimulates collagen and rejuvenates your skin, we can't wait to get all those
little needles in our faces. And everyone who met Carrie Taylor is signing up for personal training - even though we know we'll never have bodies like
hers.
And Amy Coleman ended the evening by treating us to a great impromptu rendition of one of the blues numbers from her CD Flame On, accompanied by classical guitarist Claudio
Lascano. Amy is the other half of Two Sides of a Coin Productions who along with Valerie
Smaldone, mid-day host of 106.7 Lite FM and our emcee for the event produced The Three Tomatoes "Live Event". They are two great
tomatoes for sure.
Thanks to all the other fabulous tomatoes who purchased silent auction items
(everything from theater tickets to Manolo Blanik shoes). One hundred percent of the auction proceeds went to benefit
Partnership with Children along with a portion of each ticket
purchase. On behalf of this great non-profit group we thank you, thank you, thank you.
And by the way, we revealed the identity of the tomato behind The Three Tomatoes.
Special thanks to our gold sponsors, The Cycle Guy, 106.7 Lite-FM, and Ketel One.
So if you missed the event and you're feeling a little left out now, you can still
check out all our event vendors and sponsors on our
web site . And you can make yourself a Three Tomatoes ‘tini and listen to Amy's
CD Flame On and it will be almost like having been there.
And don't worry - we'll still invite you to our next event, so stay tuned.
Well that's all for this week. The Three Tomatoes are partied
out. It's not easy staying up ‘til midnight anymore.
‘til next week,
The Three Tomatoes
