THE IMPACT OF
LEARNING
With 2008 coming to an end, I am reminded of the impact of the
College of Business on the North Texas region and beyond. Business leaders around the world are facing
especially uncertain times. More than ever, organizations need professionals who have the breadth of leadership skills honed through an advanced
business education like an MBA or the depth of specialized knowledge in functional disciplines like accounting, real estate or marketing research.
The college has long served as a pioneer in providing a variety of
nationally recognized degree programs—16 bachelor’s degrees, 3 MBA degree options, 10 specialized master’s degrees and a
Ph.D. in business administration—designed to develop our leaders and innovators for tomorrow.
The perspective of our graduates is even more compelling. Many
are the first in their families to earn a college degree. Some of them traveled great distances to study at UT Arlington. Others come
to us as working professionals, some already in top executive positions with their organizations, to earn a master’s degree. For all of
our graduates, the College of Business is a place to discover their full potential and a gateway to a world brimful of possibilities.
This month, a new class of business graduates leaves UT Arlington to
pursue their new world. We wish them well. We know they are ready. We look forward to their achievements that will benefit us all.
As we bid farewell to 2008, there is no better time to thank you for your support and to wish you and everyone close to you a
prosperous new year.
Sincerely,
Dan Himarios
