Inspiration from the runway

Fall '09 Knits

We just had New York fashion week and I took a quick look at my favorite designers to see what they were up to.

Thank you Isaac Mizrahi for introducing some color and levity. I loved those fun and funny woven tops. Are they knit? I can't tell. But the colors were scrumptious and the scale was larger than life and a breath of fresh air. Not sure about wearing my hand-bag on my head, though.

Find The Knitting School on Ravelry

We encourage you to join Ravelry, a social networking site for knitters. The Knitting School has a group called Seattle Machine Knitters (SMAK) on the site, in addition to the many other forums that offer hand and machine knitting ideas, support and inspiration. We will also soon begin selling machine knitting patterns on Ravelry.

The site is currently in beta, so you must request an invitation in order to join, however invitations are typically processed within a week, so you can quickly get up and Raveling.

Also, for those Facebookers out there, we also have a group there as well.
