It is a pleasure to send out the first Punta de Mita Foundation monthly newsletter. Since the first of the year we
have been working hard to collect our donations from last year's events and proceed with our first major project and grant giving cycle. We
have just committed $200,000 dollars to the local non-profit, P.E.A.C.E., under completion of our granting process. Through this process funds
will be administered semi-annually. They will be used for educational and environmental projects under the Community Pride and Casa Comunidad
programs.
The
Punta de
Mita Foundation is also going to tackle a community
clean up program through the purchase of new trash bins for
Emiliano Zapata and
Corral
del Risco, working with the municipality
on collections sites for
trucks, and on-going education about the
benefits of clean roads and a
clean
environment. Another
upcoming project that the Foundation will be
supporting is a
Smart Growth and Sustainable Development Plan for the
communities
of Punta de Mita.
The Foundation also recently hired
a new Executive Director,
Erica Lynn
Martling. She will be in charge of communication,
public relations,
fund
raising, administration of the budget and
partnerships with non-profit
organizations. She is very excited
to be here and looking forward to
meeting all of our donors at
our future fund raising
events. Please
feel free to email her
or stop by the new office at 125
Calle Marlin in
Corral del Risco,
near the Art and Philanthropy
store.![]()
