Wiz Words
My term as the Wiz is quickly coming to an end. When I first accepted the position I had second thoughts about doing to but have found it an enjoyable experience. It has given me an opportunity to get to know the members and the Wichita biking community. The time has gone by very fast.
I could not have done the job without a lot of assistance from the members. I want to thank those who were willing to step up and be the Vice-Wizards, the Touring Directors, the Secretary, Social Director, and those members who have continued to serve in many capacities. It is important in this coming year that members are willing to volunteer to keep the Oz Club alive and viable. One area the Club needs more people willing to SAG on Club Rides. It should not be up to the touring director to have to provide all of the SAG services. Hopefully you will say YES when someone asks you to help or just volunteer when you see the need.

Bicycle Pedaler Is Collecting Bicycles
for Toys for Tots
Believe it or not, it is that time of the year again. Our elves are busy fixing, washing and converting old bikes to decent functioning ones for the Toys for Tots program. So if you have any bike, preferably children's, that look decent with
no rust, and would like to "pass it on," please bring your bike down to Bicycle Pedaler at 330 N Rock Road. We will be glad to give you a receipt for tax purposes.
We are also open to volunteers to help with the project, simply call first to make sure we have an open stand. Contact Ruth Holliday at (316) 685-4545 if you can help.

Editors’ Bike Corner
by Jay & Roxanne Wright
Editors-at-Large
Well, it’s near the end of yet another bicycle riding season. I hope that everyone has been able to get out there as often as they would like in order to enjoy the thrill of the ride.
We still have some great rides in store before us actually & officially close out the 2010 riding season. One in particular is the “Pumpkin Pie Ride” at the end of November. Even if you can’t or don’t plan to ride, Byron always has some great drinks & food for us to enjoy. Don’t forget to plan to be there & enjoy the company of other Oz members!
Keep on Trekkin!

Up-Coming Christmas Party
First of all, I want to thank everyone who volunteered to bring treats to our monthly meetings: Melanie, Jay and Roxanne, Ben and Mary, Vickie, Wanda, Steve, Dennis and Jeanne. We enjoyed great munchies throughout the year. I really appreciate your efforts.
I hope by now you have made your plans to attend the annual Oz Christmas Party, Saturday, December 11th. This year we'll be in town at Linwood Park Recreation Center, 1901 South Kansas. We have the room reserved from 11:00 A.M. To 4:00 P.M. If you can come and lend a hand in setting up and decorating that would be most appreciated. Don Kramer has already called me and volunteered, but many hands make light work. We will begin our fabulous buffet at 12:00 and then rip into our White Elephant Gift Exchange. We'll have a short business meeting to announce the new Wizard and present mileage patches.
As is the custom, the Club will furnish the meat, beverages and place settings all you have to do is bring your favorite covered dish and a good appetite!
To participate in the gift exchange, bring a wrapped gift. It does not necessarily have to be bicycle related........

After many years of putting on the Wicked Wind 100, I have determined not to be the chair for the 2011 season. Therefore we are looking for a chair and/or co-chair for this event. Actually the event has been put on with a small but mighty team, hopefully most of them will continue.
For the last few years and successfully has between 400-500 riders each year. This year not even the rain stopped people from showing up to ride. I have reserved the start to be at Lake Afton for 2011 which will help in planning. This year we marked a new route that I think gave us a new look to the ride.
I will be glad to help kick off the first meetings and pass on all data I have. This is our biggest event of the year, and our biggest fund raiser of the year. So please won’t you step up and chair and/or co-chair this event.
