Wiz Words
By Delores Craig
Well, here we are at the end of another year of Oz rides and get togethers. I have always found much pleasure in the rides shared with my Oz friends. We seem to gravitate to the events that include food! I want to say special thanks to all the folks who sagged rides or organized events so we could share those two passions.
There is a lot of change, mostly positive, when it comes to bicycles in Wichita. We have more visibility as a legitimate part of the community. That is in part due to the efforts of people like Ben Sciortino and Barry Carroll, who both freely promote bicycling in our community.
I just returned from a fun ride in the Florida Keys. The thing I noticed the most is the added joy that comes with hanging out with like-minded folks. Of course, the longer you ride with people, the greater the pleasure.
I expect to be hanging around, and hope to share many rides with my Oz buddies. I will be retiring from WSU in May, 2012, so I will be freer to travel and hope to do a lot with my bicycle. I am looking forward to some weekend campouts with bicycling included. I hope to find many of you out there on the road.

Bicycle Pedaler Is Collecting Bicycles for Toys for Tots
By Ruth Holliday
Bicycle Pedaler Is Once Again Collecting Bicycles for The Annual Toys for Tots Collection…
Believe it or not; it is that time of the year again. Our elves are busy fixing, washing and converting old bikes to decent functioning ones for the Toys for Tots program. So if you have any bike, preferably children's, that look in good repair & decent with no rust, and would like to "pass it on," please bring your bike down to Bicycle Pedaler at 330 N Rock Road. We will be glad to give you a receipt for tax purposes.
We are also open to volunteers to help with the project, simply call first to make sure we have an open stand.
Contact Ruth Holliday at (316) 685-4545 if you can help.
