Volunteers are an important component of our continued success and we appreciate your help. To sign up as a volunteer for the Winefest Weekend 2008, please fill out the form below and hit submit.
Sips and the City 2008 will be held Friday, June 6, 2008 at Nollen Plaza/Capital Square. The Grand Tasting will be held Saturday, June 7, 2008 at the same venue. Volunteer positions are listed down below in the sign up section. Please read the following descriptions and choose which position you would like to do accordingly. Please choose at least two and we will do our best put you at that position.
Event Set-Up/Tear Down: Help set-up and tear-down the event. Duties range from garbage pick-up, signage change, help with tents, table and chair set-up, etc.
Check In/Event Info Station: Greet guests as they walk into the event by giving them a program. Take tickets of those who already purchased them and get tickets to those who still need to purchase them.
Wristband/ ID Station: Every guest must have a wristband. No person under the age of 21 will be allowed into the event. Every ID must be checked. No one born after the dates of 6/6/87 on Friday and 6/7/87 on Saturday will be allowed in.
Wine Glass Station: Make sure wine glasses are always stocked and readily available for each guest to take for the tasting.
Merchandise Station: Help in the sales of all Winefest merchandise. Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted. You will be trained on how to run the cash machine.
Vintner Assistant: Take direction from assigned vintner. This may include opening new boxes of wine, boxing empty bottles of wine, getting more ice etc.
Roamer: It will be your job to roam the event and troubleshoot any problems that may arise. Duties may include helping vintners and distributors, cleaning up broken glass, assisting in ticket sales, etc.
We will need volunteers all day Friday and Saturday starting at around 8 am. Exact times of each position will be emailed to you prior to the events, as well as a time for an informational meeting that will be held about one week before the event
Winefest Weekend will be fun and fast-paced and Winefest Des Moines is thrilled to have help from volunteers like you! You are donating your time to a wonderful cause and it will not go unrecognized!
