Toxic Tour

SUNDAY, MAY 27

2 PM - 4 PM

BAYVIEW HUNTERS POINT TOXIC TOUR

Starting Point:  BVHP Boys and Girls Club, 195 Kiska Rd.

Come and take a walking tour of our neighborhood, led by the LEJ youth.  We'll stop by some of the toxic sites in Bayview Hunters Point like the Hunter's Point Shipyard and the former PG&E power plant, and talk about the relationship to our community's health.  We'll also have a chance to see the ways LEJ youth are making things better, with a visit to Good Neighbor merchant Surfside Grocery, and a tour of the Living Classroom site at Heron's Head Park.  Along the way, we'll talk about environmental justice, development and gentrification, food security, and grassroots environmental health activism.  Free pizza party following the tour!

All are welcome, and there is no charge.  RSVP to Rachel Pomerantz (see above).
