Temperature Control Transport Course Begins March 12

Learn the intricacies of refrigerated transport.  The next Temperature Control Transport course is scheduled to begin March 12, 2007.

The six-eight week on-line course will teach participants about Circulation, Pre-cooling the load, Packaging, Proper loading, and the USDA Inspection Service.

Partnership Selling in the Supply Chain begins March 19

Give your sales team the skills they need to succeed!  Partnership Selling in the Supply Chain is designed specifically for the 3PL sales professional, and it covers everything from basic marketing principles to sales concepts, to the most common mistakes made in brokerage sales. 

Partnership Selling in the Supply Chain is entirely web-based and students have 26 weeks to complete the courses.  The cost for TIA members is $350 plus $80 for the textbook; for non-members the cost is $475 plus $105 for the textbook.

Industry Compensation Survey Webinar  March 21, 2007

On March 21, 2007, at 2:00 p.m. ET, the TIA Foundation will host a Webinar on industry compensation featuring Nancy Ledvina, Human Resource Consultant at The HS Group.

Participants in the Webinar will receive a copy of the 2006 Brokerage Compensation Survey as well as have an opportunity to review the results with Ledvina. Participants will also have an exclusive opportunity to participate in a question and answer session with Ledvina regarding the survey.

Certified Transportation Broker (CTB) Program Exam March 31

 

CTB was developed by TIA to increase the professionalism and integrity of property brokerage through a rigorous certification program. Based on both academic scholarship and practical experience, the CTB program provides brokers professional recognition, marketing advantages, and career

advancement.

 

The next exam is on Saturday March 31, 2007It is a four hour multiple choice exam covering: Basic Business Practices; Logistics, Transportation, and Carrier Management; and Broker Regulations, Operations and Practices. You must pass all three sections in order to

earn your CTB designation.

Using William J. Augellos’ text, Transportation Logistics and the Law, this program will offer a comprehensive seminar on current laws affecting every 3PL business. Members who have attended this informative seminar in the past say it is essential for the safe and profitable operation of every 3PL.

 

Separate registration fee is $500 for members; $650 for non-members.  Registration includes a copy of Transportation Logistics and the Law, Second Edition, a $150 value. Breakfast and lunch are included.
