Cares Day to give volunteers a memorable way to help! For Samantha Preston, volunteering at Saturday’s Comcast/Hands On Greater Portland Cares Day
is a way to show schoolchildren that she cares about them.
Sam, as she is called, is volunteering this Saturday at one of the 11
volunteer sites that Hands On has organized throughout the metro area. She will be among the 1,300 people volunteering during the
Comcast/Hands On Cares Day.

As the air becomes crisp and leaves
begin to turn magnificent shades of orange and yellow, Portland Public Schools button up for the second month of the new school year.
But inside the classroom, the walls
are warm with the colors of painted pictures and creative posters, and students can reach into their desks knowing that paper and pencil await their
searching fingers—even those whose families may not have the means to purchase this supplies themselves.

Tim Greseth elected Board
President
Tim Greseth has been re-elected as President of
the Board of Hands On Greater Portland. Tim is serving in his second term as President. "I want the best for Hands On because what our organization does is so important to the healthy development of our
community.”
Tim, who lives in Camas, Washington, is a Field
Representative for Camp Fire USA. The Hands On Board also elected Traci Rose as Vice President.
Traci is Vice President for Community Relations
with the Portland Trail Blazers. Elected as Treasurer was Becky Chasse, controller for Twenty Four.Seven, Inc. Terry Clelen, Employee
Involvement Specialist for Portland General Electric, was elected as Secretary.
The Board also elected the following new
members: Andrew Frazier, Managing Partner of Frazier Hunnicutt Financial and a co-founder of Young Professionals of Portland; Praveen Sharabu,
Director of EA and Infrastructure for Con-Way; Rob Smith, editor of The Portland Business Journal; and Joe Vaughn, President of Sockeye
Inc. |
