Discover Her-story: March Focus on
Women
On March 8, 1857, thousands of working women marched through
the streets of New York City demanding an end to sweat-shop conditions, improved childcare facilities, equal pay for equal work, and the right to
vote. March 8th is now celebrated around the globe as International Women’s Day.
This March, we’re extending the spirit of
International Women’s Day throughout the entire month, developing and highlighting volunteer opportunities with local organizations that
concentrate their efforts on the support and success of women of all ages, circumstances, and backgrounds. We welcome everyone to
join us this month; get inspired and take action!
