Directions
Where does your water come from? What happens to it after it goes down the drain? Find out answers to these questions, learn tips to conserve water, and ways to protect Puget Sound!
Suzy Karl, from the Cedar River Watershed will start things off with a presentation about the watershed as well what happens to the water before it reaches our tap. We will then take a guided tour of the West Point Water Treatment Plant to see what happens to all those things we put down the drain. We will also learn about some the chemicals that wind up in the Puget Sound and how they get there.
Please:
- Plan to arrive 10 minutes early
- Dress for the weather; portions of the tour are outside.
- Wear closed-toe walking shoes - treatment plants are industrial facilities.
We will have:
- Professional guides to lead the group
- Presentation about the Cedar River Watershed
- Drinks and snacks to be had before we head outside
- Water conserving devices for all who attend
