2008 SUMMER READING LISTS

The annual summer reading lists are designed to introduce students to various authors, different types of literature, and writing styles. Additionally, each year, Harpeth Hall has an all-school read for middle school students and upper school students. This year, the upper school all-school read is Three Cups of Tea, One Man's Mission to Promote Peace...One School at a Time by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin. The middle school all-school read is Red Scarf Girl: A Memoir of the Cultural Revolution by Ji-Li Jiang. In addition to the all-school reads, students will be asked to select a book from a list of faculty-sponsored books, and there couldl also be additional books assigned in each grade. The reading lists for all grade levels will be posted this week on the Harpeth Hall website, http://www.harpethhall.org/, click on PlaidNet. Lists will be in the right-hand column. Additionally, you can click on the lists below. If you have any questions about the reading assignments, contact Upper School librarian Donna Clark at clark@harpethhall.org or Middle School librarian Alice Bryant at bryant@harpethhall.org.
