THE PAUL HARRIS SOCIETY
In October 2005, Rotary Foundation Trustees officially adopted the Paul Harris Society
as a district administered recognition effective RY 2006-2007 .
Objective
To recognize those Rotarians and friends who annually contribute US $1,000 or more to the Annual
Programs Funds, Polio Plus or Humanitarian Grant programs that sustain and advance The Rotary Foundation’s humanitarian, educational and
cultural programs.
Goal
To acknowledge the generosity and commitment of members of the Paul Harris
Society at the district level in support of Rotary’s mission of world understanding and peace.
District Objective 2006-2007
To enroll a minimum of one member per club – near term objective 100% participation by clubs – and district-wide
membership of 400 Paul Harris Society Charter Members committed to long term annual support of The Rotary Foundation and
active promotion of its programs.

The Rocky Mountain
Rendezvous Is For Every Rotarian in District 6860
The
Rotary world comes to Salt Lake City
for a "Rocky Mountain Rendezvous" at the Rotary International Convention, June
17-20, 2007. And what an opportunity for
Rotarians in District 6860!
And remember, the first and
earliest registration deadline is December
1st for the best registration fee of $275.00 for Rotarians and
spouses. After that, the next deadline
is March 31, 2007
with a registration fee of $315.00.
Costs go up on site after that.
So, make your reservations early!
Just
think, you can join family, friends, and Rotarians from all around the world in
a vacation
that you will never forget. It's Rotary
largest get-together, and now is a great time to make your plans to
attend. If you've ever thought about

Group Study Exchange Team Selected
District 6860 has selected
a wonderful team to represent us on the Group Study Exchange with District 1770
in France.
The exchange will take place in region of eastern Paris and areas east
and north of the city. Rotarian James Merrell (Tuscaloosa club) will lead the all female
team on the four week exchange program which leaves in mid March, 2007.
Team members selected include Allison Denning (nominated by the RC of
Birmingham) who owns Denning e-solution, LLC; Stacye Thompson (nominated the RC
of Shades Valley) who is an International Advisor with UAB; Lori Stamps
(nominated by RC of Tuscaloosa) a sales assistant with First Federal Bank; and
Amanda Dunlap (nominated by RC of Madison), Visitor Services Manager with
SCT-Quest in Huntsville. The team has already begun preparations for the
trip which includes at least six predeparture orientation meetings.
