Recently,
we asked all of the campus chapter presidents to update us on their
chapters' recent activities. Because there is so much exciting stuff to
report, we had split the update into two parts. In this edition of
Manna Mail you can read about what's happening at Vanderbilt, Iowa, Worcester State, UT,
and Baylor.
Click here to read the first part of campus chapter updates, which includes UNCW, Louisiana Tech,
and the newly forming chapters at Duke and UNC-Chapel Hill.
Vanderbilt:
We have over 50 people going on Spring break trips with Manna Project to sites in Nicaragua [see pic], Ecuador, Costa Rica, and Peru. We are working
on trying
to get Haiti approved for next year and are really encouraging our members to apply to be program directors or summer volunteers. We will be working
this spring on events to raise awareness about hunger on campus.

MPIV's first year of volunteering at Woodbine Community Center has been a success and has accomplished its
two initial goals of both establishing a solid "core" of volunteer members as well as publicizing the opportunity to the overall membership.
While we struggled in the fall semester with some accountability issues on the part of the one of the Woodbine staff members, these problems have
now
been resolved and we look forward to a continued fruitful partnership with the organization. Manna Project volunteers are now involved in
teaching ESL classes on Monday through Thursday nights at both the 6:00 and 7:30 timeslots and we look forward to continued growth and the ability
to
expand into volunteering with other Woodbine Programs.
MPI-V has also been connecting Vandy students with volunteer opportunities in Nashville including ESL instruction at Conexión Américas and
translating at the Siloam Family Health Center.
