ECGC Adopts 'Plants at Work and at Home' Tag Program
With a Shared Philosophy of Partnership, the 11th Largest Retail Garden Specialty Center Group Will Be Utilizing the New 'Plants at Work and at
Home'Value-Added Plant Tags By January
Loveland, OH; Nov. 13, 2006-- The ECGC Distributors Ltd.
is working in conjunction with Plants at Work and Master Tag to incorporate
the new educational tags into their independent garden centers. With a tag redesign specific to the ECGC, the program is expected to launch in
January
2007.
"We [ECGC] are excited to participate with Plants at Work and Master Tag on this new Point of Purchase program. This will help us educate our
customers in an
informative and beautiful way," said Kathy Scott, ECGC purchasing director. "Twenty-five years ago, several independent garden center owners began
meeting on a regular basis to learn from each other as they grew their
individual businesses," continued Scott.
"The very core of what we do is an exact match for this progressive new tool as our members have always lead the way to redefining the garden center
experience. From festivals to seminars to cafes, these tags are the
newest offerings from the plant world and provide the very knowledge needed to make their
customers successful," said Scott.
The Plants at Work Point of Purchase program titled Plants at Work and
at Home was developed a year ago with the help of Master Tag. "Plants
at Work is doing a wonderful service for the green industry and
the public by informing us of the importance of plants in our daily
life,"
said Scott.
"The new color scheme for the Plants at Work and at Home tags and
posters will be specific to the ECGC, building brand recognition for
the ECGC while
promoting Plants at Work," said Denise Godfrey, interim Plants at Work
board member.
The ECGC is a LLC of the eleven largest independent retail garden
specialty centers in the United States. The organization has long
advocated the
increased awareness of the benefits of indoor plants to improve air
quality and overall health in the workplace and home. The ECGC has 43
stores and
is owned by: Al's Garden Center, OR; English Gardens, MI; Green View
Companies, IL; Homestead Gardens, MD; Mahoney's Garden Centers, MA;
