Whole Lotta Changes Going On

I saw my first crocus of the season this weekend, so it must finally be Spring here in the Midwest. There are some exciting things blooming in my work world, too. I'm putting together book ideas, my website is getting a facelift and I'm thinking about expanding the focus of my blog to include all of my creative endeavors instead of strictly jewelry and beading.

I'm also going to be spending more time in the studio. For the past year, Craig and I have been splitting our time between taking care of our daughter, Lily, and working on our respective businesses. Normally, this is the time of year that Craig would be gearing up for the farming season. This year, though, Craig is going to spend more time with Lily while he researches and implements the next phase for Brown Family Farm. Part of the plan is to build a commercial kitchen so we can offer ready-to-eat organic goodies in addition to our other farm products.

We both feel very lucky to be able to do what we love for a living.

Beading Help Web Interview

I was recently interviewed by Lynn Kvigne from Beading Help Web. Lynn asked fun, insightful questions and it was nice to take a break from my daily tasks to think about the "why" of what I do. I also reveal my favorite beading blooper from Beads, Baubles & Jewels, so be sure to check out the interview.

Beading Help Web is an online resource for beaders of all ages, discplines, and levels of expertise. The site includes artist interviews, basic beading info, free projects, a blog, and more.

Stringing Spring 2007

Stringing Goes Quarterly

In case you haven't heard, Stringing is now available four times per year. The Spring 2007 issue is jam-packed with creative beading ideas, new product reviews and a section on one of this season's most popular motifs: birds. (I'm particularly smitten with the fat little birdie silhouettes that seem to signal spring's arrival, but I digress...) Check out the Stringing website for more information and free patterns, including my Fruit Salad Choker.
