Silver Splendor Banner
This banner in the Beadalon booth featured my Silver Splendor necklace.

I enjoyed meeting crafters and talking about beading at the show. Everyone wanted to learn how to use the Spin-N-Bead tool, which makes it quick and easy to load lots of seed beads onto thread.

Winter Show

The CHA Winter Show was a whirlwind from beginning to end. With more than 900 vendors, it was a great place to see new products and crafting techniques. I'll report on some of my favorite new products for general crafting in the March 3rd issue of Creativity or you can check out my blog for new beading and jewelry making products.

In addition to trying to take it all in at the show, I also taught a beading workshop, demonstrated jewelry making techniques in the Beadalon booth and celebrated a Craftrends ACE Award nomination for my book, Hip to Bead. I came home from California energized, inspired and ready to get to work!

Spring Jewelry Projects

In addition to my regular columns and projects in Simply Beads, look for my original jewelry making projects in the Spring 2007 issue of Bead Unique magazine and online at Michaels.com.

You can also view the new AC Moore Crafter's Videos that I taped on behalf of Beadalon and Pure Allure. Both segments offer ideas and inspiration for jewelry making.

Living the Good Life

You may have heard that my parents, Dee and Jerry Hacker, have retired after 30+ years in the miniatures and dollhouse business. They sold their company, Dee's Delights, to Handley House of Wheeling, West Virginia.

Thank you to those of you who asked about them at the CHA Show - as you can see from this photo, Dad is taking retirement very seriously. You can drop them a line at deehacker@hotmail.com.
