Immersion is a 9-month experience in spiritual transformation. Gather for five weekend retreats with a diverse group of adult women and men who seek to explore and deepen their spiritual practices.

Through integrative avenues such as meditation, ritual, spiritual direction, study, song, worship, laughter and play we explore the Sacred breaking forth in us and through us into the world.

Who:

Immersion is for you!

• Open to adult men and women of all faith traditions, races, backgrounds, abilities, orientations, affiliations, genders, and stages of life.
• If you're seeking to explore your spiritual life in a whole-life, focused approach with a supportive and affirming community.
• Serves as a foundational launching point for those who may later seek training as a spiritual director or mentor through Spirations or any other program. 

 

When:

March 9-10, May 18-19, July 13-14, September 14-15, and November 15-16

 

 

 

Where:

Tippecanoe Presbyterian Church - Milwaukee, WI

Lodging is available at nearby retreat centers or hotels at your cost.

Self-set sliding fee scale. Limited scholarships available.

Limited Participation:

Participation is limited to 16 individuals, and is expected to fill quickly. It is recommended that interested individuals register as soon as they are able. A waiting list will be established for future Immersion retreat series.

How Immersion Came to Be:

Through the creation of Spirations Institute's two-year certification program for spiritual direction, program director Trish Bruxvoort Colligan learned that future applicants desired something first: a program offering intensive spiritual transformation and preparation before enrolling in training that required practicums and internships. Thus, the idea for Immersion was born. Believing that the program would offer a more solid foundation and a greater depth of experience with a leadership team, Trish eagerly approached Karen Hagen, pastor of Tippecanoe Presbyterian Church. An experienced retreat leader and spiritual director, Karen comes to Immersion with a heart full of passion and gifts for all people. See leadership bios below.

Your Facilitators:

Trish Bruxvoort Colligan is a writer, musician, and spiritual director in private practice, where the emphasis of her interfaith work lies in healing and retreats with women and children. As the Program Director for Spirations Institute for Interspiritual Formation, Trish accompanies women as they deepen their skills in spiritual companionship. As an internationally-known singer-songwriter, Trish creates music for the wild and wonderful journey of life. She lives in Strawberry Point, Iowa, where she is blessedly joined in life by her husband Richard and their kindergarten-aged son, Sammy. Learn more: www.spirations.com and www.riversvoice.com

Rev. Karen Hagen serves as pastor with the abundantly gracious folk of Tippecanoe Presbyterian Church. Living Waters Contemplative Life Center, a mission of Tippe Church, provides spiritual formation opportunities to all people, especially the poor and working poor. Certified as a Spiritual Director and Reiki Master, Karen provides consultations with churches and frequently leads ecumenical retreats.
