GALA SEATING FAQ:

Excitement is building for the 15th Anniversary Gala on October 28th.  Send your response cards in this week to make sure you get a seat!  There are three ways to make sure you can sit with your friends at the gala.

1.  Purchase a table of 10 and invite 9 of your best friends or loved ones to sit with you.  Name this table in honor or in memory of your favorite woman's journey.

2.  If you know for sure that 9 of your friends are coming, but you've all bought individual seats, give Andrea Nichols a call at 272-1171 and she will reserve a table for you.

3. All other seating is festival seating at tables of 8.  Individuals and parties up to 8 can sit together at any of the non-reserved tables.  Plan to arrive together or early enough that you save spots for one another.

Check-in begins at 6:30.

WWf(a)C brings Jean Shinoda Bolen to Cincinnati

Jean Shinoda Bolen spoke to a sell-out crowd at St. John's Unitarian Church on Thursday, Oct. 12th.  Her visit, sponsored by WWf(a)C Foundation, brought together women and men from across the city and as far south as Tennessee, eager to hear her message of peace "to gather the women and save the world."

Earlier on Thursday, Dr. Bolen paid a surprise visit to the WWf(a)C writing center at 6906 Plainfield Road, in time for the closing of the morning class.  "This building has a very good energy," Dr. Bolen proclaimed, as Mary Pierce Brosmer, Founding Director, showed her the 8,400 square-foot facilities which the WWf(a)C Foundation hopes to purchase by June 2007.

A group of fifty enjoyed a reception and book signing with Dr. Bolen.

During her lecture, the Jungian analyst and author of ten books praised Mary Brosmer's vision for women and girls, noting WWf(a)C as an "oasis in the Cincinnati area."

EXPANDING INTO THE SOUTH!

Below is a note from 2006 FLA Graduate Lucy Jaffe.  She has opened a school in Birmingham, AL.  Please click HERE for the website and HERE to email Lucy.

The first WWFC Birmingham class has six amazing women in our evening meeting.  We're are approaching our 7th class and we've already had two greenbooks, walked a labyrinth as a group,  and invented a new feedback tradition -the "sitting ovation".  We've seen several manifestations beyond the wonderful writing and tears and laughter: pears gifted from one member' s tree transformed into golden soup which we enjoyed together and to our relief (of the backside) the church where we hold the class put cushions on some of the hard iron chairs.  I learn from the women every week as they exhibit much courage in their writing and an ability to listen well and offer heartfelt and articulate feedback to each other.  They are also generously holding me as I try to hold them and their words.
