Make every encounter count!

 

This is a  great reminder for new and "old" consultants alike!  "Your 30 Second Commercial" has been posted on the Sales Corner for quite a long time now, but if you haven't seen it and if you haven't looked at it in a while, please do and use it to make every encounter count!

 

Your 30 Second Commercial

 

Recently I heard the old saying “chance favors the prepared mind” and it made me think of how many “chances” or opportunities we have every day if we’re ready for them. Are you ready when “luck” comes your way? One way to be prepared is to have your Tomboy Tool commercials memorized so they naturally roll out of your mouth with ease. What’s a commercial? It’s what you say about your Tomboy Tools business in 30 seconds or less when you’re talking to a new acquaintance (stranger). It happens when you’re standing in line at the grocery store or bank, sitting in the waiting room, wherever…, and the small talk starts. What can you say to bring up Tomboy Tools and share the tool party experience or Consultant opportunity?

Some lead in examples:
  • Do you work full time or part time?
  • Are you looking to supplement your income?
  • Have you ever thought of having your own home-based business?
  • I work around my family, is that something you might like to learn more about?
  • Do you enjoy sharing what you know with other women?
  • You look like the type of person who would enjoy what I do and I would love to talk with you…please accept my business card. (This applies to everyone.)
  • I party for a living and get paid to do it!
  • We’re not just another pretty catalog.


Why less than 30 seconds? Because most people talking to a stranger (new acquaintance) can’t listen to a series of sentences for longer than 30 seconds without a break and become uncomfortable. You don’t want to give all the information, just enough to create interest and then ask “Here’s my business card. Would you be comfortable in giving me your phone number so I can call you and set a time we can get together to talk a little more about this and you can take a look at our catalog/tools?” Making contacts each day is the most important thing you can do for your business growth.

Create your commercial by writing down all the reasons why you’re a Tomboy Tools consultant and what excites you about being involved with Tomboy Tools. Then design and refine your commercial(s) by practicing and timing them so you’ll know which one to use in what circumstance. Make sure you practice your commercial so it sounds natural, and before you know it, your opportunity appears. Pretty soon you’ll be looking for the longest lines to stand in for your “chance”, because now, you’re prepared!

 


Training calls and opportunities to help you grow your Tomboy Tools business


On this Monday's call (September 18th), we will be announcing our new line up, The Fall Recruiting Drive.

 

The focus for the last quarter of 2006 will be on building your team. During the call we will introduce two new programs, one for consultants that have 2 or more crewmembers, and one for new consultants, and consultants with less than two crewmembers. The goal of these programs is to jump start your business with a focus on recruiting new consultants to join the Tomboy Tools team. This program is designed to help many of you start to see a considerable increase in your commission check and at the same time, help Tomboy Tools grow nationwide.

 

Along with this new program, we will also be announcing another opportunity with the Pink for a Purpose Program.

 

We will be providing updates on our current programs, and in addition, we will also announce a sneak peak at the October special.
