AT THE FRIST

Exploring Angelo Filomeno: Eros and Thanatos
Gordon Contemporary Artists Project Gallery
Now through June 1, 2008

Come explore the recently opened
Angelo Filomeno: Eros and Thanatos exhibition. Using luxurious materials and virtuosic craftsmanship, Angelo Filomeno achieves a disarming beauty in his embroidered images of fanged skulls, exploding peacocks, and hovering insects. This provocative bestiary symbolizes the struggle between life and death, sensuality and brutality, and tradition and modernity.

This exhibition was organized by the Frist Center for the Visual Arts.
