It's a fact of business life - disasters do occur. And when they do
they interrupt operations and impact revenue.
How a company
prepares and plans for any unseen disaster is critical to its ability to recover. At DATAMATX we realize that every business is vulnerable to serious incidents that can prevent them from
continuing normal business operations. But it actually became a reality when we were able to step in and help one of our industry colleagues Pel
Hughes Printing remain in business during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Pel Hughes, a New Orleans-based printing and direct mail
provider, was located on Tolouse Street in the heart of the city. After Katrina hit, its facility was flooded with several feet of water,
making it inoperable. Under the direction of our president and CEO Harry Stephens the company was able to reestablish critical operations and within
72 hours of arriving at DATAMATX, Pel Hughes' technology team was processing and outputting files.
We want all of our valuable clients to know that we have long ago taken steps as a company to develop a Disaster Recovery Plan that ensures
continuity should anything unforeseen affect our critical business operations. This 88-page document is published for all our employees, clients and
vendors to see; and is consistently reviewed and evaluated so it remains current and fits today's reality. With a plan and recovery teams in place,
we can offer our customers peace of mind that their critical business operations outsourced to us are safe. It is an issue that should be
important with all your vendors. It is certainly very important to us.
Most recently, we were asked to speak at an industry conference and share the steps we took to create
the Disaster Recovery Plan we have in place today. We would be happy to share this talk your industry associations, as well. Contact us today
at info@datamatx.com
to schedule a presentation.
This year, instead of the aftermath of a hurricane, we plan to focus on celebrating our 30th year in business! So
here is to a calm and safe new year wherever it finds you. |
