Dear Angie,
I believe that people work with people they trust.
Therefore, one conscious objective of every marketing effort should be to inspire trust.
And one obvious way is through networking. Here's how:
"One benefit of in person networking is that it allows people to experience you as a person by seeing you in
action - and that's how you build trust.
They learn to trust you by watching:
- how you treat other people
- that you show up on time
- that you help by volunteering
- that you make a point to listen intently
- that you make a point to help others to connect with each other
- that you share resources often and with care
- that you are generally a person with a positive attitude
- that you are looking to give to the group that you are involved with
I loved this list when I saw it in an article by Social Media
Marketing Coach, Zita Gustin. (Read
the whole article here.)
What about you?
- How do you inspire trust in your marketing?
- What type of marketing makes you trust a company?
- And what type of marketing makes you squirm with distrust?
Reply to this message with your answers and I'll do a blog post on the topic in the
future.
