Faculty Biennial: Secret Lives Revealed
Crown Center Gallery, October 10 – November 7, 2008
Reception: October 10, 2008, 5:30pm – 7:30pm

The Fine Arts faculty of the Department of Fine and Performing Arts will exhibit recent work at our very own Crown Center Gallery. The exhibition will feature works in ceramics, painting, drawing, digital prints, photography, jewelry, mixed media constructions, sculpture and installation. The Faculty Biennial has been a long standing tradition providing students, colleagues, and the community an opportunity to see the strong talent that comprises the visual artists in the Department of Fine and Performing Arts. The faculty’s extensive credentials include local, national, and international exhibitions, as well as publications in the fields of photography, graphic design and architecture. Music

Lauren Pelon will be performing a concert at Loyola University Chicago on Friday, October 17, at 7:30 PM, in Mundelein Auditorium.

 

The performance is totally free and open to the public, and is a part of the new FUCHS professional music series at Loyola.  The concert is hosted by the Loyola University Department of Fine and Performing Arts.

David Byron, Professor for the British Academy of Dramatic Arts (BADA) will be at Loyola on Wednesday, 10/22 at 12:30 pm, at MUND room 1016, to discuss their program, and the possibilities for Loyola students interested in studying in London. Visit BADA website.

ALL HIGH SCHOOL, COMMUNITY COLLEGE AND COLLEGE STUDENTS OF DUPAGE COUNTY INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN MAY 2009 SCULPTURE SHOW IN LOMBARD
 
 
Sculptor Art Students age 16-25 are invited to participate in a Juried Sculptor Exhibit in Lilacia Park of Lombard on May 9, 2009. Winners will be awarded scholarship money to continue their instruction in the art of sculpting. This is the first time for this event ever in DuPage County. The Exhibit will be held during Lilac Time in Lombard’s Historic and nationally renowned botanical garden. 

Art Department chairpersons are invited to select outstanding sculpture students to apply for selection in the exhibit. Students will not be charged an application or entry fee. This is an opportunity for your student to earn scholarship dollars and bring notoriety to your school’s art program.  

The art in this exhibit can be listed as sellable offering students an opportunity to realize income from the show.  Valuable exhibit experience in a professional show is guaranteed. The opportunity for further exposure to the sculptor’s work through a permanent or rotating art program is a realistic possibility.

Art Sale

Calling all artists! Friday, October 24th is your lucky day. From 3:00-6:00 PM Loyola's Department of Fine and Performing Arts will be in the CFSU lobby selling easels, abandoned student paintings, and stage costumes liable to be used for Halloween purposes! We will also be giving away lightly used theatre books. Student Organization will be setting up various tables that will cater to any questions or concerns that you might have. They may also be having a Bake Sale Fundraiser!
