forward to all your friends and colleagues. But don't worry, your email in-box will not be

The UL sponsored a photography contest for students. They were asked to submit photos
creatively portraying a
library
space or activity. Above is the first prize winner dubbed "the Library Anxiety Photo" by the marketing committee who judged the contest.

Elevate Your Day. . .
was the theme as we celebrated the grand opening of the new Fine Arts and Design
Library (FADL) in February. Abundant
natural
light welcomes visitors to the largest collections of print and digital
materials in architecture, art, music, dance and film in the state.
More than 10,000 people visited the facility in its first month of
operation. Eight group study rooms provide the opportunity for
students and faculty to work collaboratively. The facility boasts three
times the number of computers from its previous location and a spacious
library instruction room.
The UL has recently multiplied digital holdings in
art and music. ArtStor, a
database of over
500,000
images, is the
preeminent scholarly digital image repository. Five audio databases
provide listening pleasure on or off campus to UNM students, faculty
and
staff. Come visit!

Native American Community Academy (NACA) Students Visit University
Libraries
The Indigenous Nations Library Program (INLP) hosted 7th and 8th graders from NACA on March 10.
The students are participating in the National
History Day competition. Librarians from the Center for Southwest Research and the Indigenous Nations Library Program helped students find
primary and secondary resources for their essays. This is the first time NACA has participated in this competition and they hope to make this a
yearly event. For more info on INLP contact
us.
