CWSL/UCSD Speaker Series Continues March 27

On March 27, Professor Laura Dickinson will present "Outsourcing War and Peace" as part of the California Western/UCSD Speaker Series "The Future of International Humanitarian Law." Dickinson, a professor at the University of Connecticut School of Law, will discuss her upcoming book which focuses on foreign aid and the increasing privatization of military functions. The presentation will take place at 12:10 p.m. in California Western's Classroom Building, 350 Cedar St., and is free and open to the public. Please RSVP to events@cwsl.edu or (619) 525-1686.

Alumni Weekend Features Charity Golf Tournament

Come join California Western alumni, faculty, friends, and colleagues for a day on the green! California Western School of Law and the Alumni Association Board of Directors are hosting a 2008 Charity Golf Tournament to benefit The Advanced Mediation Program - supporting San Diego's Juvenile Hall. The tournament, as part of California Western's exciting Alumni Weekend 2008, will take place Sunday, Sept. 21, at the beautiful Riverwalk Golf Club in Mission Valley.

OC CLE, Phoenix Reception Kick Off Spring Regional Alumni Events

California Western's Regional Alumni Events program kicks off this month with several unique events. Orange County alumni have the chance to earn CLE credit from Professor Bill Lynch this Wednesday, March 5, and Phoenix-area California Western faithful can catch up at the famous Wrigley Mansion Club March 11.

Annual PILF Auction, March 18

Fun!  Great Food!  Gifts!  California Western's Public Interest Law Foundation (PILF) will host their annual Live Auction Extravaganza Tuesday, March 18, 5:30-8 p.m. California Western's main lobby (350 Cedar St.) will be transformed into a trendy club-like venue complete with decorations, tasty food, wine and beverages.  The live auction, starting at 5:30 p.m., will be stocked with dozens of excellent gift options for almost every taste and budget! 

 

All proceeds from the auction support PILF's summer grant program, which provides a stipend to public interest law interns to cover their living expenses while they are serving the needs of the public.  For more information contact Matt Izu.
