What's Brewin' at the Studio
What’s Behind the Numbers?
We’ve
recently launched our new Website along with our "What’s
Behind the Numbers" brochure and portfolio book. The Website's fresh
look showcases some of our best work in an interactive portfolio
section, along with case studies and testimonials from clients.

2008 Calendar is HERE
The
exclusive Studio 2055 Flip-Flop™ Calendar has returned and is
shipping now. Thirteen months of insightful images illustrate this
year’s theme, “Nature of Design.” Following
in the long tradition of unique Studio calendars, the 2008 edition
will be prized by all who are fortunate to receive one. We would like to thank our printing partner Hirez Digital Solutions for their part in its production. Remaining 2008
Flip-Flop calendars are available for a short time by sending $7.00
plus $3.00 postage & handling fee to: Studio 2055 Calendar, 2055
Westwood Drive, Carlsbad, CA 92008-1143.
New Studio Rises
Studio 2055 has growing pains. We called our local Design Dog and
she said, "Tear
down this old place and build a new one…and toss me a bone
while you're at it!" We
took her advice and construction begins in a few weeks. There will
be no disruption of our fine customer service. We promise.
The
Studio will be closed for the holidays December 24 and reopening January
2, 2008.

Carlsbad’s
Skinsational Spa Re-branded
Carlsbad’s Skinsational, a full-service spa in the Village,
has created an atmosphere of calm and serenity within its confines
as it pampers men and women clients. Reflecting the ambiance
of the spa was the goal of Studio 2055, with the creation of
direct-mail pieces, a marketing brochure and complete menu
of services. The brochure was designed by our new designer
and illustrator, Nicholas Ivins.

Extra Sprinkles, Please
Hungry? Our restaurant critic and food expert recommends:
Bonne Bouffe, Encinitas, CA.
Excellent country French restaurant that for 20 years has been providing diners with delicious food in a pleasant environment. 471 Encinitas Blvd., Encinitas.
Vincent’s Sirino’s, Escondido, CA. Continental dining in Escondido? Sure. At one of the best restaurants in the county, where Vincent Grumel, owner/chef knows how to please the patrons with exceptional French-influenced meals. The creamy made-that-day soup is worth the visit, as are the entrees. 113 W. Grand, Escondido.
Tony’s Jacal, Solana Beach, CA. Since 1946 Tony’s has provided North County residents and visitors with the best Mexican food you can buy. Family owned, patio dining and lively bar makes for a memorable meal. Fresh-roasted turkey is served in tacos, enchiladas and sopas. Unbeatable. 621 Valley Ave., Solana Beach.
The Apple Pan, West L.A. Since 1947, the best burger in L.A. Go for the Hickory Burger (without cheese), fries and a drink. Counter seating only; excellent fresh-made pies and towering tuna salad sandwiches; thin-sliced ham sandwiches too. But it’s the burgers that keep ‘em coming back. 10801 W. Pico Blvd., Los Angeles.
230 Forest, Laguna Beach, CA. Lunch or dinner at this always-crowded hot spot can’t be missed. Service is tops, as are the entrees and the essential half-baked chocolate soufflé cake with vanilla bean ice cream. 230 Forest Ave., Laguna Beach.
Phil’s
BBQ, San Diego. Best barbeque in San Diego County,
hands down. New location is bigger, with expanded menu and fast
service. Dine inside or out. Baby-back ribs, red-potato salad
and BBQ chicken breast are all perfectly prepared. Expect to
wait on busy nights. 3750 Sports Arena Blvd.,
San Diego.
Harvey’s
Wineburger, Phoenix, AZ. The attraction at this
rather seedy bar is the signature wineburger—a hamburger
patty marinated in red wine, then grilled. Locals say it’s
the best in the west! People are friendly, so don’t worry.
Harvey’s Wineburger, 4812 N 16th St Phoenix,
AZ.
Excuses For Avoiding Relatives During the Holidays

- "I have to work… every day that you’ll be in town."
